I hear you on the waiting...
My DH has his transrectal u/s tomorrow, I'm already feeling his pain!
I keep hoping that maybe his s/c was zero cause he had a fever. That's me grasping at straws.

My Mood: Points: 1,536.98 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,536.98 | Hi everyone! I am happy to stumble on this thread. Hope you don't mind me joining in. I live in Calgary.
I haven't been properly diagnosed yet, but I am pretty sure all my symptoms fit PCOS. My dr. called me a week ago to give me test results and she said my LH and FSH are 4:1 which indicates PCOS. I also am currently on CD120 which is extremely long for me. I am also TTC which doesn't help and have been TTC since last year. I am preparing myself for the long haul really. Unfortunately with all that said, my dr wants AF to come naturally so I am just unpatiently waiting. She also said she doesn't really look into things more until 4 to 6 months. The last time I went she changed her answer to 6 months. But I am going in next month for sure. This is all a bit ridiculous...the whole waiting thing. I just turned 30 and I hear the tick, tick, tick of the clock
Anyways, nice to meet all of you fellow Calgarians & Albertans |

Did your Dr test you to see if you're IR? Do you have any of the other PCOS side effects? I myself have a tit of hair, acne on my back now and then and until I got up to 2000 mg of met I wasn't getting AF at all. Your Dr sounds kind of strict. How long have you been TTC? Over a year? I'm so sorry she's going to make you continue to wait. The waiting is agony! I personally would push for your Dr to either put you on BCP to bring on AF or provera or something. I don't think it's healthy to go that long without AF, it can increase your chances of cervical cancer too. If you want to some "natural" ways to stimulate ovulation (which would cause AF to come 10-16 days later) let me know.

I myself have a tit of hair, acne on my back now and then and until I got up to 2000 mg of met I wasn't getting AF at all. Your Dr sounds kind of strict. How long have you been TTC? Over a year? | I went off the BCP last Feb so we have been TTC since then. Since then my cycle went from 27 days to 32 today to 45 days to this cycle of 120 and counting. I only ever remember having one long cycle right before I went on BCP 10 years ago. My doctor really hasn't test for much except FH and LSH and some other tests. See I just met her in November, my old dr just left her practice, so I jumped at the chance to get another doctor fairly quick. She had told me at our first meeting she didn't like to do anything for 4 months of a missed AF. Then the second time I went back she said 6. So when she called me up a week ago to talk to me about the results I did tell her that if AF didn't show up in a month I would like to talk about provera so we can get this TTC show on the road. As far as the doctor being strict, not sure. I just met her in November and of course the first thing we have to deal with is no AF. Not the way I wanted to start off the relationship, but too late for that. She does seem nice though when I talk to her. I mean she did call me on the phone personally to talk about the blood test results a week ago.
Other side effects I have noticed, is gaining weight after coming off BCP. It isn't much, but it is noticeable in my clothes and my belt loops. I also have acne and bacne like a teenager again. I get some that are so sore it hurts to touch them and I get some in the weirdest places. I have also been going to electrolysis for two years and I have been noticing lately, that it isn't helping so I am thinking that the excess hair on the chin, sideburns and neck may be a side effect. Oh and I have lots and lots of CM, I thought I was lucky and very fertile, but apparently having lots of CM may not be a good thing. Of course, just all speculation right now.
Anyways, that is about all I can do right now is speculate. I do plan on going back in February to hopefully get a recommendation to a fertility clinic. We'll see what happens. But this whole waiting for AF is almost putting me in the looney bin. It is all I can think about and my work and home life is suffering. |

My Mood: Points: 20,905.01 Bank: 115,536.52 Total Points: 136,441.53 | Violet- Welcome! 120 days is a long cycle..My Dr would have put me on provera long ago. Your family doctor will probably refer you to a gyno before she refers you to the RFC. Its such a waiting game. You never understand what patience really is until you have TTC with out success. ((HUGS)). I hope your doctor can find a reason why AF disapeared. You just have to tell yourself that there is always a tomorrow. I have been through ALOT in the aspect of TTC, and it even put me in the looney bin for a while. As soon as i started Metformin though my moods improved and I got AF. You should really ask your Dr to look more into whether you have PCOS. Ask her for an u/s or a blood test to check your androgen and estrogen. If not. I would recommend my walk in Dr. He is who i went to to get my diagonosis. And he knew a lot about it. Unfortunatly i am seeing my fam. Dr now who just frusterates me, but i would rather have a fam then a walk in. There is nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion.... . The walk in Dr is Dr. Dhanji at Madigan Medical Center (Memorial and Madigan NE) , or Dr Mann at the same place. They will make sure you get treated properly. I really hope your journey is short, and if not, ill always be around here to talk to...I feel like i have been TTC forever, but I will never give up until that living angel is in my arms. Again ((HUGS)) the wait may be long, but it is worth it in the end.

I do think, as hard as it has been, I can wait until at least Feb. before I got back to my own dr. again. Then if I am not satisfied, I will be looking elsewhere. |

Yesterday I had some EWCM, I haven't checked yet today. This would the the first real time that it was actually stringy like it says in TCOYF. I wonder if I actually o'd or am going to o on my own? I forgot to temp yesterday but did today and it wasn't that high. I wonder if I would have actually had EWCM when I was on the clomid but didn't because of how it dry's things up downtown. Hmmm... we BD'd just incase by some miracle of God my DH does have swimmers down there. Although I didn't tell DH that was my motivation behind the BD'ing because I didn't want to remind him of his "potential problems"
What's everyone got planned for the weekend?

My Mood: Points: 1,536.98 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,536.98 | Not too much planned. My car had a recall on it so that is going in the shop tomorrow to get fixed and then I have acupuncture. I can't wait. I go for my bum neck and shoulder. It has been well over a month and a half since I went and I can tell I really need to go. I am also hoping she might be able to do some acupunture to encourage AF or give me some clue where to start. Other than that, just hanging out. DH has a really crappy shift work schedule so he is usually in bed before 9pm so he starts to wind down pretty early in the day. |

This weekend i mostly have to work. Saturday anyway. I am really hoping the my BBF has her baby Saturday night, but i dont think its going to happen. I went to her u/s with her on Thursday and she is 38.6 wks. She has been having ligament/seperation pain ( i think that she is dialating cause she said it hurts right in her labia) So any day now really.
I think DH and i are going to chill on Saturday night, then spend Sunday at my dads cause we are dog sitting until the 24th. Sounds good to me.

I know she was due in January or February. You can call to see when she is coming back and she may have a replacement 289-0040. I haven't went for a while because I wasn't doing any treatments until now and it can get pricey. My insurance only covers $500 per year. If you are into reading, read 'The Infertility Cure" by Randine Lewis. Leslie has trained with her. It's a good book if you are interested in following traditional chinese medicine. If you go to the acupuncturist, she will recommend reading it.

My Mood: Points: 1,536.98 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,536.98 | Thanks for the acupuncturist suggestions. I went to mine this past Saturday and she is willing to help me out. She specializes in infertility and hormones levels, and other things like that. I go to Dr. Hong Yan at Southcentre Chinese Acupuncture. I started last year because I couldn't take the pain in my neck and still go for maintenance of that, but that has definitely gotten better.
I told her that I haven't had AF since September and her response was, 'but it is January?' She was shocked. She couldn't get the real points on my stomach on Saturday because she was working on my back, but she did put some needles in different places down my spine to start encouraging AF. I asked how long it would take and she said one girl got her AF within 4 hours and another it took 3 weeks. I am supposed to go 1 time each week, but unfortunately she was booked for Saturday so I am starting in Feb. 2. That is going to be a long two week wait. I am hoping that what she did this past Saturday will help me along. My work cover $500 a year and so does my DHs. So I am certainly going to use up what I can. I just hope that AF shows so then I can finally go to my dr and get a proper diagnosis.
Hope everyone elses weekends were good. |
