Thanks weemes! Well, my family DR wouldn't do anything with me unless I was TTC for a year, despite my history. So, I went looking for another doctor and found the NE Women's Clinic at the Sunridge Professional Building. The doctor I see there is so nice and understanding. She was quick to order blood work and an ultrasound. I hear there's a 3-5 month waiting list for the fertility clinic.

Wow, the doctor you were referred to sounds great. I wish my dr had done more than just order bw. My DH and I TTC fro about 15 months and then we got referred to the clinic. 7 months later we had our first appointment at the clinic. They're really really busy.

What kind of puppies do you have?

Yeah, she's really great! I wish I had found this clinic sooner! She said to try the clomid for 3 months then she'll refer me to the fertility clinic if nothing happens. I can't believe you had your appoinment 7 months later! I guess it's because everyone in Canada is coming to the fertility clinic here because of the high success rate (that's what I've heard). Where are you at with the fertility?

I have a lab and a siberian husky. They're my babies. If I didn't have them I would probably be a lot more stressed out.

Shejayd and weemes, thanks for your responses.

I have finally started Met - 500mg, but wondering if it should be a higher dosage.
(Medroxy)Progesterone - 1st 14 days of the month (This is the only thing that has worked to regulate my non-stop period that I have had for the last year and a half)
Chromium
Vitamin B12

Would like to try something for the acne though.

Did you say Non-stop period? Ouch... I think they know how IR you are and work you up to where you need to be Met wise. Do you get b12 injections? I do...

For probably the first half of my PCOS life I would get AF about every 6 months. Kinda frustrating, but really not so bad. The last half has been heavy long lasting periods. Working it's way to the last Year and a half, where I maybe lucky enough for it to stop for a week (and I mean a week at the most). It is harsh, it sucked for my love life, and my general psyche. BCP didn't do alot, just had tons of bad reactions. I think in general just finally being "normal" has helped my whole outlook.

I go back in April and I will ask him about the dosage.

I don't get B12 injections...just take the vitamin for now (1200 dose). How do you feel about the injections?

Ok, I know it has been awhile, but I have a few questions. On Saturday my acupuncturist said my temps were too low to get PG which I thought was interesting. FF said that I O'd on CD35 and now here I am with AF 8 days later. That is what I would think is a short LP. I still haven't even heard when my IFC appt is. I called my dr office last week and they said that they are still waiting to hear. WhHich is find. I wish I knew the date though.

Anyways, should I be concerned about the short LP and the low temps enough that I should go my family dr again to talk about it now? The last time I mentioned acupuncture to her she didn't seem too thrilled, and I know some dr's don't appreciate the art of temping. I was reading up on hypoactive thyroid (sp?) and low temps are a sign for sure. So is poor diet (which I already know that I have). I thought she did do blood tests for thyroid, but I don't remember if anything was said about that. I am just thinking, should I really waste her time with my almost self diagnosis to get the thyroid checked? It didn't sound like she wanted to do too much with me until I get that IFC appointment so I don't think I would get much help.

Ugh! This waiting sucks.

Waiting does such Violet... I'm with ya there.

Ok your questions: I've heard that Vitamin B6 helps with the short LP. I'll double check that for you with my MFI ladies so I can tell you what dose.

As for your thyroid... You did say that you think your family doc checked it right? If I were you I'd call the nurse at your Docs office. Ask them to check your labs and tell you if they checked your thyroid. If they did check it they should be able to tell you on the phone if you have a problem. If they didn't, ask to make an appointment saying you're not feeling "right". Then when you get there ask the doc to send you for bw including glucose and thyroid. That's what I would do.

As for your referral, how long ago did your doc make it? If it's the calgary regional infertility clinic you were referred to (sorry I can't remember) then they will call you directly when you get in. They don't send any info to you family doc regarding your referral. When I was at my HSG on Monday all the ladies there were new patients to the clinic and one only waited 6 weeks! I waited 7 months!

I'd say if your referral was made more than 3 months ago you should go ahead and call them stating that your doc make a referral but you think the contact info they sent was old and you'd like to check it. This is what I did after waiting 3 months and they told me they'd never received my referral and could my doctor please send it again. LAME! I'd hate for that to happen to you also and I think there is no harm in checking.

Sorry this got so long...

Welcome back Sheena, I guess there will be some maga changes coming up soon. I can't complain though...

Violet: Here is another post by a cyster regarding your LP:

i had terrible problems with my LP - really bad spotting. the last two cycles i used B vitamins - not just B6, but B complex. it worked because i managed to get to 12dpo without any spotting, which is the first time that happened for me. the next cycle i got pregnant. i really do attribute this to the B vitamins.

Thanks weemes for the info on the vitamins. It is appreciated

As to answer all the questions you asked, here I go.
Yes as far as I know my dr did test my thyroid along with glucose and a few other things. It has been a few months since I heard those results, but I don't think my thyroid at the time was an issue.

For the referral, my dr said that she would make the referral when I was in on Feb. 14. I just called the dr office (mine not the IFC) and the reception said she knows my file and they are just waiting for a phone call back from the clinic. I don't know which one and I didn't ask. My dr said when I was in that they go for whatever can get me in the fastest. So I am sitting here waiting for the IFC to call my dr office so my dr office can then call me to tell me the appointment date. I wish all I had to wait was 6 weeks, weemes your 7 month wait scares me a little bit. I just don't want to be sitting around when there is something I could be doing to get my temps up or help my LP (which I know the vitamins probably will).

This might be a bit late, but did you hear about your HSG results weemes?

Violet: Your doctor sounds amazing, I hope your wait is minimal.

My HSG was the absolute most painful experience (down there) in my life. The prescription pain killer they give you is a mickymouse drug. It did nothing to help. I litterally cried out in pain and I NEVER do that, ever! I'm a hold your breath and grit your teeth kind of girl. Apparenly the amount of discomfort depends on the doctor. I could deal with the speculum and the tube through the cervix but they expand this balloon to check the shape of your uterus and my body litterally freeked out and I felt some cramps like never before. Then I gained 8.9 lbs of water. It was hard to imagine. I looked 6 months pregnant, I don't know why my body got so swollen but I guess it's not unheard of. I wasn't able to go back to work right away because I was so uncomfortable. Today I have about 3 lbs left to go but at least I can breath and eat again easily. The good news is that it was all clear. So totally worth it :-) thanks for asking!
