Dear All,
I had a great RE and successfully achieved a pregnancy and now our little miracle is 7 months old. Unfortunately, PCOS symptoms are back in full force. I need to find a doctor that is interested in managing medications etc., not necessarily the fertility part of it. I guess my RE doesn't manage patients that aren't trying to get pregnant. Please help if you can.
Thanks,
Hopeful
I've been seeing Dr. David Sneid since forever - at least 10 years. He's very helpful, and likes to prescribe as few medications as possible to manage symptoms effectively. He's located in the Baptist Medical Center office building, next to the hospital. PM me if you want any more information!

I'm going to bump this one up - I've decided that I'm tired of my doctor telling me that I need to quit eating so much, (and I don't eat ENOUGH, and the things I do eat are not the right things for me to be eating anyway!) rather than asking me about my diet and health regimens. I asked him once about trying a low-carb diet, and he brushed it off and said it was a fad, and that I just needed to eat 3 good meals a day. He's not providing the kind of feedback I think I should be getting, and so I'm looking for someone SPECTACULAR in the Kansas City area. I know of one good one, and he's a partner of my OB/GYN, but I thought I'd see what my other options are.
Thanks!

I have gone to LOTS of Dr's and the only one who has ever helped me is Dr. Linda Nelson at the Women's Reproductive Clinic at Kansas University Medical Center!!! She specializes in PCOS, and Infertility. She is great and her nurses are AWESOME!!! No question you ask is ever treated as though you are stupid....Their number is 913-588-6276. I would advise ANYONE in the Kansas City area to check her out.

Hi, ladies! I see an RE in Overland Park who's really good. Her name's Dr. Brabec and she's with the Reproductive Resource Center. Their website is www.rrc.com and their phone number's (913) 894-2323. I only had to wait about two weeks for my initial consultation. They seem really professional and caring. You might give them a try! Hope this helps!

I actually had my first appointment with Dr. Nelson a few weeks ago. She is only a reproductive endocrinologist, but this is my first time seeing an RE, so I don't know if she does some OB things. She's GREAT! I really wish I'd found her sooner!

Oh no! I will have to find a regular ob. It says she does ob work on my insurance page but she must be a specialist... Back to the drawing board.
Thanks for the input!

I am likewise trying to find an good OBGYN in Kansas City. I have come to the conclusion that Kansas City Women's Clinic is the most PCOS unfriendly place in the metro area to go--stear clear of these doctors. I am sick of the quackery in this town. I just want to scream.
Just for a primary care doctor, I like Dr. Ray at College Park in Olathe. We just moved here recently and she has immediately gotten on my symptoms....drawing blood, ordering ultrasounds, ordering MRIs.....leaving no stone unturned and is now sending me on to an Endo. for possible Pcos. She's very kind/gentle and yet she'll be aggressive at figuring out what is going on.
I found a GREAT doctor. Dr Eric Peck in the Olathe Medical Center. He and the other Dr in the office are GREAT with PCOS!!!! Check them out at www.ohsi.com
