Thank you! That is who diagnosed me I know from first hand experience. If you see my other post about problems with metformin you will see what I mean. Thank you nice to know it is not just me! Thanks I really needed someone with PCOS to chat with.

It was so bad with the Endo in at Woodland Health Care that I left crying one day. After that I never went back. He told me that I needed to starve myself, becasue I was eatting too much?!?! That is my problem I never eat in the first place. When I suggested that it might be more then my thyroid he told me that my insurance did not cover him to discuss anything else with me??? And that he wouldn't get paid if he diagnosed me with something else?!?! I ended up reporting him to Woodland Health Care some days later after I had cooled down.

I only went to him the first place because 5 months post-pardom my thyroid took a big drop. My insurance has me at Sutter Health (of which I love!) but their Endo (in Sacramento) does not take my insurance, go figure. After my horrible experience I went pleadying (more like begging) to Barbara for help. She was ans is increible!!! I love all the doctors and midwifes at Sutter. I had my DD at Sutter and it was the best experience I have ever had! I sure hope you can go to her!

Who was your midwife Erin Smith was mine she is great my daughter Just turned 2 years old.
Yeah I was told by the endo (oriental man) are we talking about same one? that I needed to eat less. I said I am eating low carb & exercising 1 /12 hours 4-5 times a week at the Butterfly gym in Woodland (he also said according to my labs I needed to exercise more) I don't know where I am going to fit anymore excersise in. Plus I am commuting to Woodland for the gym. I really felt bad when I left there. Then I got what I thought was going to be the magic pill metformin & I quit that 2 days ago cause I was having all over body aches, sweats, excessive thirst and the endo said it couldn't be the med but when i called the pharmacist he said all signs of my body not tolerating the medicine. I feel hopeless.

Yes, Erin she deliever Catarina!!! I also love Jenna! Yes the Oriental Man, Dr. Lau. He has no idea what he is doing, stick witht he pharmist! They often know more then the doctors. Sometimes I will go in looking for advice from them first.

The other day when my insurance messed up my refill, Sutter Health (Dr. Tilton) after hours to care of it for me! I could not believe it, she called the insurance company, the pharmist and called me back everytime she got an answer or decision! I did not have do anything. She went beyond the call of duty!

The thing with PCOS is no amount of exercise or health eatting will help you get the weight off. Even though these things are wonderful, you have to get at the issue. Some of the gals her have had great success with the South Beach Diet (very well balanced), IR Diet and cutting out anything that has to do with refined or processed food.

That so cool! I love Jenna too! Erin & I have remained friends though! she is the one who convinced me to take the metformin I wasn't too sure & she like a good friend laid it out there for me. I don't think you have a chose it's this rx or have diabetes!" then my little miracle drug wasn't so great for me. Our insurance won't pay for Sutter anymore. we are in that Pers deal where all sutter doctors are off or hmo plan. Made me so sad I really hate the Woodland clinic!I lost 30 lbs. on south beach before I knew I had pcos. I started having periods every 2 weeks & my weight loss came to a halt So I joined the gym convincing myself I was just the type of person that had to work 3 times harder than anyone else. I was going to do it ! Become Healthy & fit! I added the gym with in 2 weeks I was bleeding 2 weeks then stopped for 2-5 days & start all over again along with small weight gain for the next 4 months made an apointment was given provera another terible rx (I was depressed, edgey PMS going to hurt someone crazy0 dr. said that this could'nt cause it It did stop the bleeding was even told by Dr. that as we age this can beour normal cycle I am 34 yrs old. Not that I think anyone in the world other than this dr. would think this is normal!!!!
I demanded a referal & yes you know who I got. I thought there was hope on th horizon instead more insult to injury! I was told not to at so much, you really need to cut back on your intake! Which I have been doing that is why I new something was wrong with out a doubt I was at the gym with ladies my size my MO & they were losing. Losing 1-3 lbs a week!Ikept at for months before I made that apointment! I wasn't closet eating I have a friend who does that. I was comtted Now I feel hopeless & I am typing here crying thinking that I can always figure out the answers to any thing I canput my mind tooo except this! Endo said the new med actos would cause me to gain weight! I really don't know what to do. Now I need to go to Woodland before the gym closes & I also have to do some deliveries I am the local Tupperware & avon dealer and what is it 105 degrees out there? I might be losing my mind quickly too I might add!~

You're so awesome!!!! I am so glad I found you! I have not even left the house today. I put my 10 month old down for a nap and she is still down! Nice break .. gone are the days (as two weeks ago) that I could put her down and know when I came back she would still be there.

I have been on the Met for a little over a month. I was told if you don't start out slow, that I would be in trouble. I had horrible what could be compared to IBS. Once I even knock my poor husband off of his feet trying to get to the restroom. I was told to stay at a dosage untilt he symptoms went away and then up it again. It was rough!

The best part of the situation? The acknowledgment from Barbara Fox, she said, 'For decades doctors have blamed over weight women as if it was there fault they were over weight. Now we know that your bodies are working against you. That no matter what you do, no amount of excerise or diet will get the weight off. Now we have the means to help. Let me be the first to say how sorry we are so making you feel so little of a person.'

I just started crying ... speaking of crying have to attend to Catarina. Talk to you soon.

So it took me a bit to reply. We had computer 'issues'. Anyways I am on Yasmin and I like it. I lived in Madison back in 1999 (?), I have a bad memory. I rented a house of off Tufts (?), like I said bad memory. Kat has some much information to read. My DD fell on her face today and broke open her lip. It was the first time I got this aweful nauious feeling in my gut. She is ok but I still feel sick to my stomach. We went looking a new apartment this evening and it looks like we will be getting it. Well as long as our background check comes back ok. Ok, ok I will confess, I commited a felony, ha ha ha. I probably should not joke around about that, sorry. Well I am off to get some sleep. We have a busy day tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!

We are staying in Woodland, but new apartment (less expensive; ironically nicer place). DD is doing well, her lip has healed fast. I am so used to my scrapes and bruises taking so long to heal (due to my thyroid). My stomach just churns everytime she hurts herself. Does that feeling ever go away? Or just apart of being a mom? My DH says she is fine, I wished I could be more relaxed about it. Or maybe it's because she is our first. I am doing better about not checking on her when she sleeps. I used to have to make sure she was still breathing for the longest time.

You might have mentioned it, so forgive me for asking again as I have not memory, what is the name of your HMO? Do you have to stick with Woodland, if that is the case I would just keep changing doctors within Woodland until you fiund one you like. I would be sure to make sure that the 'Patient Care' Department (I think that is name) knows how you feel, in reagrds to how you were treated.

I also saw Kat had taken a different med that helped her with her PCOS. She mentions it in her story, ' Then I INFORMED my doctor that I was going off my medications, and that I wanted a prescription for Eulexin aka flutamide (a drug that I found in my research, shown to be beneficial to women with PCOS). He said, "No!" So, I went to 3 more doctors until I found one that would prescribe it, providing I came in for regular liver testing. OK!!! '

I am going to do more research on it and see if it might be benefical.
