Hello ladies. I am currently living in Southeastern WI, but the doctor that diagnoised me is in central WI about 2 hours away. I need to see someone on a regular basis, to help me get this PCOS under control, and I can't afford to take off of work to go see the doctor in central WI. Does anyone know of a Dr. in Southeastern WI? I checked in the Find a Doctor area here, but it only came up with one name, and I can not find him practicing anymore.
I am in south central and I tried looking for some Dr's in your area, but PCOSA only listed one. There used to be an active email group for Wisconsin, but is temperarly down right now. All I can suggest is looking at your local clinics for endo's or reproductive endo's, depending on if you are ttc or not. Then call and ask if the dr's specialize in PCOS. GL!

The doctor I see is in Milwaukee (not sure how far that is for you) and he's great. He's at St.Luke's hospital and his name is doctor Katayama (reproductive endo) and a few floors down is a Dr. Chan who is an endocronologist. Good luck!
Thank you both for your replies! Milwaukee is not that far for me, so I will be looking into Dr. Katayama, hopefully he is covered by my insurance, otherwise that is another mess that I will have to fight with! It doesn't seem that easy to get a dx of PCOS, and then find a dr. who can help you!
It is also nice to know that I am not alone in WI. Everyone else seems so far away!
Depending on where in SE WI you are, there's also my doctor in Bayview - on the South side of Milwaukee. Her name is Dr. CLaudia Kock and she's at the Bayview Family Medical Facility on Kinnikinnick Avenue. The phone number is 414-769-4900 if you're interested. She's a sweetheart, and does everything possible to help me through this difficult time.
I live in Grafton, north of Milwaukee by about 15 minutes, but I am willing to travel to find a doctor in the Milwaukee area to help me out. I had a general practice doctor at St. Luke's before, but had to stop seeing him due to insurance. I am willing to do anything I need to do in order to see someone who knows something about PCOS!
Please keep in touch! I am new to this site, and am currently in the process of moving, so I am not on as much as I would like, but after the move, I will be able to check the site at least every day!
Are you looking for an RE or an OB/GYN? I live in West Bend (hello neighbor!) and I see a really great OB/GYN here in West Bend. Her name is Dr. Breckenridge and she also has PCOS so she knows exactly what we go through.
Good luck!

braunnm17- thats AWESOME about your Dr! I bet she is great to see and really supportive. I just see a regular endo every 3 months for my met, and she basically just knows the basics. She knows I research and know what I am talking about, so she is good about that, but thats all she is really good for. I saw a RE in Rockford illinois that was GREAT! She really knows her stuff! Good luck to all of you! And good luck with clomid braunnm!!

Thank you for your Dr.s name! I will check my insurance to see if she is covered! So far, all of the dr.s that have been mentioned on here (although only 2) are not covered under my insurance, which is a real bummer!
I can't afford to see someone outside of my "network", and for me to get a referal for a dr. around here is a nightmare! I am currently seeing a doctor in WI who is a couple of hours away, and I only see him once a year. Through everything that I have read, it sounds like until we get my symptoms under control, I really need to see someone more often than once a year.
I see Dr. Beth Lalande out of St. Lukes on the south side of Milwaukee. It would be a hike... but she is WONDERFUL. Sheis a regular endo. specializing in PCOS. I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Katayama, RE, too (previously mentioned) and I know he operates out of Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Best of luck!
I'm moving to IL in a year (DF relocated for work) and I am having trouble finsing ANY endos or REs in the area. Yikes! Wish me luck!
I live in Franklin. I am kind of in between drs. now. I use to see Dr. Debra Schell who happened to be part of my OB/ GYN practice. She was great and she had 2 great nurse pract. with her. I did about a year of clomid and iui's and injectables. The stress and the money were alot so we took a break. In the meantime Dr. Schell decided she wanted to do just infertility so she left the practice and went to work with Dr. Katayama (who has one of the best reputations in town!) and her nurse pract. went w/ her. They are out of Waukesha and St. Lukes. Now we are thinking about another round of meds. My first instinct is to definately go to Dr. Schell but then I was contimplating trying someone in Racine where I work. I am a dental hygienist there and I have scheduled patients 6 months out. With infertility tx. I was needing to be in Milwaukee at 9:00am for u/s and blood work but i had an 8:00 pt. in racine. I was moving my schedule around a coulple of times a week. The dentist I work for are very supportive but it was so stressful now add hormones. Sorry for babbling on.....let me know who you decide on and how it went.

While I live up near Appleton, I can't recommend my doctor (his 2 sisters have PCOS), but I do recommend Dr. Katayama. I have 2 close friends that have him for a doctor. One had multiple m/c and the other a split uterus and both have 4 month old babies!! He does seem to have a magic touch!
Beth---I love your GB Packer icon!! I'm obviously a HUGE packerfan too!!
hey, this might be too far, but if you're ever in madison, you should see dr. pritts (a reproductive endocrinologist) at the UW hospital. i used to see her and she is awesome. (i don't anymore because i moved away.) an appointment with her is just like seeing a friend or something, because she's so nice.
