Default Looking for an endo in Bham, AL

Hello! I am looking for an endo in Bham, AL. I am currently seeing a gyn only and have been PCOS for over 10 yrs. I am beginning to have problems (more than usual) and think its time to start seeing a specialist. If anyone has any recommendations I would appreciate it.

THANKS!!!!!

Hi Andreaarie,
I am from the Uni. of Alabama at Birmingham, and there are good endocrinologists and reproductive endos at Kirklin Clinic.
I was also diagnosed by a gyno, but i never went to a endocrinologist because i was given treatment (metformin) by a student doctor at UAB.

http://www.health.uab.edu/physicians...=82348&query=*

I have posted a link above to look for doctors in the UAB/Kirklin Clinic based to their speciality.
I think they should be good.
Good luck,

I was not originally diagnosed by a gyn. I was originally diagnosed by Dr. Azziz at the Kirkland Clinic but he moved on to a better position years ago and I didn't like his associate there that he recommended so I began seeing a gyn he recommended. She has me going to a lipid clinic for the insulin resistantance and they keep playing with my meds because of my issues with them. It is just really hard going between 2 doctors for problems when they are not communicating themselves. I am not TTC, and am on bcp also.

Thanks for your recommendations so far. Is there anyone imparticular at kirkland that I should look into?

Thanks for everyone's help!

Hi
I didnt actually meet this Reproductive Endo but i had taken an appointment with him, Dr.John A Lucas III.
He deals with infertility, so i was going to him.I cancelled my appointment because i got my BFP just before his appointment.
My gyno said she will refer me to a RE after the baby, so i m going to ask her about consulting him later.
Good luck.
