just thought i'd share this with you. i was recently chatting on here and found a girl that lives in my town, actually..kinda weird since it's not that big of an area...anyway, she told me of a doc at drexel that she's been going to that she really likes. I may try her out too if my next apptmt doesn't work out...
the doc. name is Katherine Sherif...she's the head of the only PCOS center (if you want to call it that) and it's right in philly!!! I live in central pa, so it's a bit of a drive for me, but not far for you, i'm sure..just go to drexel med. website, sorry, i don't have the info at home , but i do at work..i can email it all to you tomorrow if you'd like...
it sounds very promissing, and i'd definitely give them a call, anyway. They don't seem to accept many insurances, which is why I'm waiting to see how my next apptmt goes before going to her, but I thought you could really use the input..I hope it all works out for you! Let me know if you need me to send you the info, I'd glady pass on the info. I was so grateful to find this girl who told me about it, and since you live so close to there anyway, I'm sure it would benefit you!!!

I'm the one who told Kimoe about Dr. Sherif. She really is a great doc, she spends all the time you need with you... I'm not so crazy about her office staff, so don't be alarmed if you should call and get someone semi rude... the doc is great.
I'll copy and paste from the e-mail I sent Kimoe...
This link should take you right to the page about Dr. Sherif, there are
links on the left that tell you about the Center as well. http://www.topdocsonline.com/np/Find...D=692&PraclD=5
I hope that link works, if not you can go onto the site and search.... www.topdocsonline.com go to find a physician, type in Sherif.
I know that there are some other ladies on this site that see her as well.. I'm not sure how many frequent the boards though...
Hope this was helpful... e-mail me if I can help anymore

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but as a patient of Dr. Sherif's, earlier this year, I was informed by the office that she left the practice due to a family crisis. And as far as I know, there is no one at the practice who is 'replacing' her as far as her interest in pcos goes.
There was no mention of her returning anytime soon. Or at all for that matter. I really liked her, and like linni wrote, she would spend as much time with you as you needed (docs like that are SO hard to find), so it's a real bummer....
If anyone has any news on Dr. Sherif, I'd love to hear!
And so the search for a great pcos doc in the Philly area continues!
I would highly recommend Dr. Ronald Feinberg or Dr. Barbara McGuirk at Reproductive Associates of Delaware. Their office is near Wilmington, Delaware (it's actually in Newark, DE). I have seen both of them and they are great. Dr. Feinberg has actually just put out a new book called Syndrome O (or something close to that). You could look it up online and read parts of it to get an idea of his philosophies. It would be worth your time to check them out. Hopes this helps.

Years ago when he was at Crozer I saw Dr. Larry Barmat. He moved to Abington and is an RE associated with that hospital now. I thought he was wonderful!!

I saw Dr. Feinberg in DE also and he is wonderful. I had my beautiful daughter Sophia on 7/13/04. If I can help with anything please let me know.
He did just have a book published and he actually wrote about me in the book.
I just wanted to say to allof you that it is so nice but strange to hear so many people with the ame issues as myself all living right around here. I grew up near Neark Delawar, live in Cental PA and have a siter near Mainline...just wnated to share that it's weird and wonderful how we can all connect through here!!!!
