Default Looking for Feedback...

So, I'm just looking for feedback from other young people with PCOS. I was diagnose when I was 12...I'm just wondering if some of this stuff is normal...I've never been to a psych (parent issues) depression, body-image issues, anerexia, belimia???
What meds are you on? I'm changing doc and just wondering what works..i was on aldactone but it didn't work too well, kinda but not much...
Hormone swings...kinda like bipolar disorder...what else have you experiences being young and having this diagnosis...thank you!!!

Now that i look back on it, i'm pretty sure it was the PCOS that caused alot of my problems. Puberty was hard enough, but then having all the added prob's PCOS brings only makes it worse. I was like manic depressive from 12-15. Weight gain is more prominent in Pcos than undereating disorders, but i'm sure that there are a number of Anorexics with PCOS symptoms (their light weight causes hirsutism and amennorhea). I'm on Yasmin right now, and the only thing I like about it is that it stopped my 32 day period. There's no change in hair growth at all. Hope this helps!

thank you!!!
That does help because I'm going to a new doctor I want to know what meds have worked for people so I can tell her what I want to try. I want to try and eliminate the hair growth, but if that is impossible at least slow it down a bit. It is so embarrassing and having to remove it twice a week is an inconvinience. but thank you for the reply!!!

before i was diagnosed i found that going through puberty was fine, it was just the irregular periods, and the weight problem. I think ive been lucky as i dont get all the symptoms. Such as i dont get the extra hair. At the mo, im taking Dianette . It seems to be helping loads especially with my periods. Before i was on Dianette, i seemed to find that i had a few minor mood swings, but now i dont think i have that much. lol

Hope this helps
