Hi ladies I am looking for ladies who have been on femara and are willing to share whatever information and experiences they had with it. If it was successfull or not. I am looking for all experiencess not just the good ones. I am suppose to start this cycle. M yhusband might not be here when I O if I O that is.

I've tried both clomid and femara over the last year and a half. I liked Femara better, because it got me pregnant

But the first time I took it, I had 6 full size follicles, and had to rush out to buy condoms for the first time in years. So make sure you are being monitored!! I did have some hot flashes and night sweats on Femara though. Good luck!

I've taken both clomid and femara over the past year. Neither worked for me, but femara didn't make my lining as thin as the clomid did, and I found that the side effects weren't as bad on the femara either. I was told by my doc that the femara produces better quality eggs, but doesn't tend to produces as many follicles (if any) as clomid does. I hope it works for you!

Anyone know if it raises your progesterone more than Clomid does?

My progesterone level was virtually at zero on the femara (probably on clomid too, but I didn't have bloodwork on clomid - only u/s). I was highly resistant to both medications though, so I might not be the best source of information.

I am being monitored. I hope it works for me. Congrats on the twins gatornurse! I assume they are your femara babies? I am hoping for twins so I won't hav eto go through this whole thing again. I would love more kids than 2 but my husband only wants 2. Only way I will get more is if the first 2 are boys. He said we will try until we have a girl within reason anyways, lol.

Victoria- We are so similar yet so different. I want twins too, so i dont have to go through the financial and emotional chaos again. But unlike you I dont want more then too! I would be happy with one girl and one boy. DH on the other hand wants 6+ (we both come from big families. 6 sisters on my side, and 3brother 3 sisters on his side)...Good Luck with the Femara!

Oh my mom tried for a boy 6 times, no luck there. hehe

Yeah there isn't much on here about Femara. You see stories about clomid left and right but nothing about femara. My doctor doesn't want to do clomid. He feels its not a good drug.

bluluvscoco- lol yeah come from a medium size family and my husband is from an extended family, basically meaning he has around7-8 half siblilngs. He didn't grow up with them living together but he has always known them. His youngest brother is 2ish. His dad is a busy busy man.

My re said clomid doesnt always work so he wants to try the femara, i'm thinking of asking him to add injectibles to this round. I want triplets (call me crazy) but i don't want to keep going through this and then wham I'm 30 still wondering when am I gonna have kids. Grr

Well, I conceived my 4 year old on Femara...

Also, there are some buddy groups on Femara in the TTC Buddy section; as well as a Femara Buddy Group in the Pregnant Buddy Groups section.

Hi!

Look for the Femara buddy group - lots of info, experiences there!

As for me, I did O well the 3 times I have taken it. Like yours, my Dr prefers Femara to Clomid at this point. I did not get pg on Femara and will be moving on, but it's worth a shot b/c it's cheap. If you want twins - the rate of multiples is actually lower with Femara than Clomid.

I did 2 rounds of femara and iui combo and just found out the 2nd one worked. I'm pregnant!!

I liked femara much better than clomid. Clomid completely dried me up and that's probably why it didn't work because I o'd each time. I actually think it overstimulated me- I had really bad pain around O time. Anyway, I had a normal amount of follicles with Femara (with this 2nd iui I had 3 mature at time of trigger) and a good lining thickness. But I'm probably biased because it got me pg.
