Thank you ladies. I don't know if I will be using a trigger or not. I kinda hope I do but if I don't have to thats good to. I also hope my chances of multiples are increased just because multiples run in my family and my husbands. I really hope they do, lol. A boy and a girl would be great.

I am at the very end of my 1st Femara cycle, after having conceived my DS on our first round of clomid in 2006, and then 2 failed rounds of clomid my last 2 cycles...I will find out tomorrow if I'm pg or not, so here's to hoping!
I have to say, I like femara MUCH more than clomid! I was a hormonal MESS on clomid...I didn't realize just how bad it was until I got some distance from it...I have none of the hormonal/emotional side effects on femara...I was pretty darn tired and a little nauseous the days I actually took the pills...but that stopped as soon as I took the last one...

I got pregnant on my second cycle of Femara. My RE doesn't like Clomid so I never even got it. The first dose of 5 mg didn't work for me. We O'd on 7.5 and it worked!

I am on my 3rd round of Femara. I just started it on Monday. I am hoping for some better results this time around. I don't know if I ovulated last month or not. FF says I did and although I never got a +OPK, I did get my period on day 30! I did a day 21 progesterone test but my doctors office decided to take a vacation and won't be there until July 28th.
I am switching clinics and have an appointment in Toronto on Aug. 6th. I think it will be a much more positive experience. My SIL went to this one.

Nisha--what is preseed? I have heard of several people using it (doing it?), but I've never heard of it......am wondering if I should look into it!

I found out about a week ago that my third round of femara worked.
I did not ovulate on 2.5mg but responded to 5.0mg with 2 follicles on my right ovary the last two cycles. My RE spent a good deal of time talking to me about how he really had a lot of faith in this drug and that clomid has more side-effects overall.
I had some bad headaches with femara but it was only for a day or two and worth it.
I hope you all have the best of luck with femara. Also a lady I work with got preg. on 5.0mg of femara. Best wishes!

I just want to say you all are so lucky!! I just finished 3 rounds of clomid with 3 BFN's. I asked my dr today about Femara and she said that my fertility clinic refuses to work with Femera anymore. She said they used it and had success a couple years back but then some study came out that said 4% of femara babies have heart abnormalities or defects. Then she went on to tell me that 4% of all babies have some kind of defect so I'm like WELL LET ME TRY! But either way they don't and that's the only fertility clinic my insurance will cover.
I wish you all luck on your femera, I've heard a lot of good stuff about it!!

I had been on clomid up to 200mg. It didnt' do anything for me. I did my own research, and finally talked my dr. into letting me try femara. I thought i ovulated on the first cycle, but wasn't sure. The second month, i definitely ovulated, but just as this med was working for me, my dr. announced she was selling her practice and moving out of state. That was quite a blow for me. That was a year ago. I went to a new ob/gyn 3 weeks ago, and she gave me femara to try again. She also gave me a prescription for Prometrium( progesterone capsules that are taken vaginally), that is taken prior to "O", and until you take a preg. test. Are you taking the Prometrium? I have been ttc for seven years, and femara was the first thing that has even remotely worked for me. I am anxious to see how it will do when it start taking it again next month.
I hope it works for you. Keep me posted. Would like to know what your experiences are with it. | |
