I drove from San Antonio, TX to Houston, TX to see Dr Allon and so far I like him. He really listened to me, went over my meds with me, discussed what our action plan would be and took the time to really do a thorough check up (even though that meant I didn't leave his office until almost 7pm). Plus, he worked with all my insurance restrictions and he has no problems writing mail order Rx's and taking calls in response to questions. So far, I like him a lot. If he continues this way, I will be staying with him, despite me needing to drive all that way.
glad to hear that you liked him hope you get all the help you need.
Could somebody tell me where Dr. Allon's office is? Thanks!
he has two offices one is on the katy freeway 10901 katy freeway and the other is in the woodlands in the st lukes plaza if you need more info let me know

Ugh! I hate driving in Houston. Thanks! I'll have to get DH to find out if he's in our insurance plan.

trina02, so far I really am liking him and after one week on the Byetta he prescribed I feel like a totally new person. This sounds terrible, but even if he was lucifer reincarnated, I'd probably like him just for listening to me and making me feel like a real person for the first time instead of a run down wreck.
jorologrl, I hope he's on your insurance, I found him very easy to talk to and very sympathetic. I hate driving in Houston, too but the Katy Freeway office was easy for me to find and I get lost very easily while driving.

I just saw Dr. Allon's nurse practitioner about 9 days ago. They are the first group that really gave a crap about PCOS and had a game plan to help me with my inconsistency of AF and crazy weight gain. They gave me Prometrium and then told me I needed to have blood work done on the 3rd day of AF. Then I made an appt with the nutritionist at his office. I walked out of there with $200 worth of supplements. I'm supposed to start Yaz and the supplements after I get the blood work done. I liked them but the supplements were a little steep for my income. All in all I will be back to see Dr. Allon maybe not the nutritionist.
CeraSmile7, I got the same feeling from them. I didn't see the nutritionist. I was thinking about it, but I didn't really have time the day I went and since I have to drive in, I would have to make it for my next appt anyways. Was one of the supplements they gave you something called CinndromeX?? If it was could you tell me what you think about it once you try it...I'm curious about it.

Can you give me more info on Dr. Allon please? I'm looking for a Dr in the area. I'm in the woodlands area. Thanks!
What kind of specific information are you looking for? In the meantime, I can give you his website address. http://www.drallon.com/

for where he is at in the woodlands i hate to say i dont know the address but you can call them and they will give it to you
Thanks. I will be calling them tomorrow. It doesn't bother me to drive *much* to the other office but if there is one closer I would much rather go to that one.
I really really like his nurse practitioner she was very informative and seemed to know her stuff regarding PCOS. She also made me feel very at ease and normal for once. Oh and she did give me CinnaMed but the nutritionist gave me like 6 other bottles of stuff-no joke. And by gave I mean they were each around $40. The nurse practitioner just made me feel like I could do something about it unlike the past four obgyns I've seen who were just like "oh well you don't want to have kids yet do you? Here's the pill see you in a year...oh yeah and lose weight" It makes me so angry that none of those doctors ever tested me for PCOS even when I told them I had a really inconsistent AF and have been struggling with my weight for nearly 10 years now!! Okay rant over! Back to the moral of the story go to Dr. Allon but wouldn't recommend his nutritionist...don't think I'll be back to see her but I may continue with the supplements (purchased online which is cheaper). I need to call for my blood test results tomorrow and see if they want to start me on met. Well, I will keep you guys posted!
