Looking for a good Gyne/Endo for PCOS in Little Rock, AR area
I am trying to start treating my PCOS for regular daily living and health . . . we now have 3 children and are not planning on ttc for another 2 yrs. In the past the only reason I treated PCOS was for fertility issues. Really they never treated the PCOS just the infertility, or migraines, or depression, or irregular cycles separately SO I would like a doc who can manage all the symptoms or head up my treatment as a whole not just as individual issues.
I am located in AR . . . near Little Rock.
Thanks!!

Have you tried UAMS in Little Rock. Look for an endocrinologist that treats PCOS online at UAMS. I hope this helps..

Thanks . . . we are military and tricare (insurance) gave me a referral to a gyne (Jacksonville) when I asked for a endo but I guess I will try them and see if I like them or seek another referral. I have a feeling they are related to Rebsamen I mean whatever they are calling themselves now and I don't trust that hospital much so I don't know.

Well, have you found an endo? I've found out that my endo is leaving his practice here and I will be looking for a new one. He hasn't completely made up his mind. His son was dx with brain cancer, so I think he will be leaving to care for him. I understand his reason, of course, but I really like him and hate that he may be leaving...I am heart broken. I've never felt so comfortable with a doctor before and he completely understood what I am going through...He has helped me so much. I am afraid I won't find anyone as good as he is. Please let me know if you find a good doctor...please please please...I need an endo, not an obgyn..

I got a referral yesterday a matter of fact for a re endo in Little Rock . . . Dr. Miller . . . I used his partner back when we were ttc so I may just ask my insurance if I can go back to my old re . . . I was actually trying to get a plain old endo but apparently that is not going to happen so might as well go with what I know? Moutos was my initial one and was good but really I was on too high of a dose of clomid for too long so hopefully since I am NOT ttc right now that won't matter.

I may be going to Little Rock for treatments this summer. My endo is leaving our small town. I am so heart broken. I love him so much and he understands. I've heard that Little Rock Diagnostic clinic is good, but I also heard one doctor there is a jerk. The problem is that I don't know which doctor. There are about 25 doctors in that clinic, so hopefully I won't get the jerk. Please keep informed and let me know if you find a good endo and I will do the same...

The reason I stayed with miller and moutos is because if you are ttc they are right next to Dr.Wendel one of the top high risk OBs in the state . . . I swear by him, you CAN"T find anyone better . . . his nurse Stephanie is great too and they really learn about you and your concerns to really learn how your body responds to things and how you WANT to deliver. They are awesome. . . Dr. Moutos was great other than the fact that I think they kept me on Clomid for too long . . . but we did do IVF through them as well as some other procedures and they are very gentle and personable. They are all connected to UAMS (Wendel, Moutos, Miller) and once you have the babe Ark Chilkren's hospital team is the ones taking care (pediatrically - spelling) of them until you go home so its the best from start to finish.
I am not really sure if you are ttc or not but its useful info anyway in case you know anyone who needs it.

Thanks for the info, but I am not ttc. I have two almost grown kids and dont' think I have the energy to chase around another one...LOL...Thanks for the info though and if someone needs it I will pass it on. I have a wonderful OBGYN in Conway. He took over the practice from my obgyn that delivered my two kids years ago. I loved him and I love my new one. He is great. He doesn't treat PCOD though. I asked him who he recommended, but he only knew Little Rock Diagnostic clinic. He didn't have a suggestion for a doctor, though. I am still hoping to hear back from him on doctors, though. My problem is that Little Rock is a 4 hr drive for me which really stinks. I have to see the doctor every three months....stinks...I am really going to miss my doctor here..

I am happy to see this post! I have an appointment with Dr. Miller on Monday. I've heard good things about him so I'm looking forward to the consultation. It's a 3 hour drive for me but I'm willing to drive if he can help us!

My appointment with Dr. Miller went ok. I had already completed 9 rounds of Clomid but he wanted me to jump into 4-6 more rounds of Clomid with IUI. Not only was I discouraged by the price but I think 13-15 rounds of Clomid is a LOT of ovarian stimulation. And I'm worried about ovarian cancer (since my grandmother had it).
So I visited with my gyn on Wednesday and we are going to try a few other things before going to IUI. And he wants me to give Memphis a try (if we have to go to IUI). We'll see how it goes.
