Hi, I am new to SoulCysters. I was diagnosed with PCOS in November 2007 after a ruptured cyst sent me to the emergency room. My gyn informed me that this was something that I have likely been dealing with since puberty. He asked me if I had trouble with weight gain and if I had any difficulty conceiving my first child.
I didnt have too much trouble with my weight until after the birth of my daughter 06/01/2003. Since then I have tried everything to take the weight back off with no results. I have tried every diet possible along with working out 7 days a week for an hour a day. My gyn put me on birth control to regulate my cycle and try to relieve me of some of my symptoms, however I would like to TTC #2 in the near future and I would like to get some ideas for healthy recipes that I can whip up, not only for myself but for my family also.
Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried the Insulin resistance diet? It seems often women with PCOS have problems with processed carbs like flour, white sugar, etc. Many cysters are also on cinnamon to help with IR. IR often is one of the main culprits to hard to loose weight in women with PCOS. I take Metformin and Cinnamon every day and still it's hard to loose weight, but I did get down to 167 before I started gaining again. Right now I'm around 180 and only have 25 to loose to meet my goal weight. In 2002 I weighed 227 or so before I started my lower carb diet. Once I started eating grains again, that's when the weight came back.
