Question Looking for info/help

hi my name is shika and I am brand new to this site. I just reciecved my pcos diagnosis on Thursday and was prescribed metformin 500mg 2x a day. I have been suffering with hypoglycemia due to insulin resistance caused by pcos.

I took the metformin yesterday and I could not maintain a blood sugar over 100 mg all day so basically I was feeling hypoglycemia all day. I ate about 8 times that day because when I ate my BS would go up to about 105 - 109 and by the end of the hour i was back to 99 - 92. I know that these values are normal but for me when my BS gets to that point that is when I start to feel the symptoms of hypoglycemia.

My question is this.... When taking metformin to regulate ur insulin and sugar situation how long does it take before you feel better and how long will I have to deal with the effects of hypoglycemia before everything levels out?

I thank u ladies in advance for any info and help

Welcome to the site!
I hope you've been having better blood sugars, and if not, have been back to your Dr. My question is, when do you take your metformin? Generally, it should be taken after you eat a meal.. not a nibble. mostly after breakfast and then after the evening meal. It's been awhile since I've been on the site, sorry it's taken me until now to reply.
