Ok, I usually buy my viatmins/herbs and stuff like that from www.webvitamins.com they are usually MUCH cheaper then the health food store, but I am sure you could find this in the health food store too, or somewhere else online, but I found this Supplement called Syndrom X - thats actually what PCOS is alterantly called sometimes, anyways, heres what the manufacter says, I havent tried it yet, I am still breatfeeding and dont like to mess with anything that may pass to my son-by the way, yes I do have PCOS, more evidence it can happen(baby that is)

"Taking obesity for granted can be a deadly habit. Excess body fat located in and around the organs of the body (visceral obesity) presents an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease and many other diseases (“apple-shaped” obesity).

Before one starts to assess the overall negative effects to obesity and its related disorders, one must understand the relationship between obesity and the modern epidemics of Metabolic Syndrome X and Type 2 diabetes mellitus. There are 70 million Americans who have a condition called the Metabolic Syndrome or Syndrome X. Syndrome X requires careful definition and description, if the real advantages of carbohydrate restriction in the diet can be fully appreciated. Syndrome X is a combination of factors which are almost invariably associated with an overweight status. The simplest definition of Syndrome X is the variable combination of obesity, high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol, all linked by resistance to the hormone insulin.

Syndrome X is associated with more than high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure and obesity. Syndrome X, with its characteristic component of insulin resistance, can contribute to infertility, irregular menstruation, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), fatty liver, inflammation in the body and the development of certain types of cancer.

Syndrome X is caused by poor lifestyle, excess simple sugar in the diet, lack of exercise, and hereditary tendencies. One must address the constellation of obesity-related disorders that must not be divorced from considerations of weight problems or obesity alone."

Sounds worth a shot, and its a little less then 20 bucks, but with shipping you should probably buy something small with it, like a box of tea, so you get your $$$ worth.

Heres the link http://www.webvitamins.com/product.aspx?id=22903

They have several other hormone balancingh products too, just type in search words like"hormone" "balance" "blood sugar" "insulin" and carefully review the products, also you can propably talk to someone at a healthfood store and ask them if they would recomend this or not, then depending on price buy it there or on the web. Hope this helps

Hey I also wanted to give you a few other links on that same site for others I have found, again I havent tried anything yet, but I plan on it once I am done nursing

http://www.webvitamins.com/product.aspx?id=841 (this product says its more of a menopause supplement, however it doesnt say thats all its used for
"This immaculate all herbal formulation provides an excellent source of isoflavones plus a range of important herbs traditionally recognized to provided support and comfort to the female system during times of imbalance because we all kin that Joy in Life is a question of BALANCE."

http://www.webvitamins.com/product.aspx?id=23013 (this is more for the insulin resistance factor, and controling blood sugar)

"Low Glycemic Sugar Metabolizer is the only product to use botanicals such as Perilla Oil along with a new enzyme technology to support the pancreas and the liver. These two organs work together to control blood sugar levels, energy and fat storage. The enzymes in these liquid soft-gels act as the molecular keys to trigger key functions in the pancreas and liver so they can do their job to keep your blood sugar within normal levels."

http://www.webvitamins.com/product.aspx?id=22357 (this is for regularting menstral cycles, and balacing hormones)

"Made of ginseng, deer horn, carthamus, millettia, notoginseng, common peony root, prepared rehmannia root, Chinese angelica root, atractylodes, wolfberry, scute, cyperus, mother wort, cnidium, de-glued antler powder, donkey hide glue and corydalis.

Chinese medicine uses this time-honored formula to tonify the Qi and blood , activate female hormone, maintain healthy uterus smooth muscle tension, promote gynecological regularity and postpartum recovery. It is also an analgesic."

Again, all these things are under 20 bucks. I believ in alternative remedies, I have been diagnosed 5 years now, and no MEDS, and 2 kids... I am still battling it, and trying to lose weight, but every year my symptom are getting better and better, as I start to understand PCOS. Right now I am trying to eat low glycimic foods, I take apple cider vinager(raw organic) almost everyday-I seriously believ this helps, but theres not a lot of info on it, and =TRY to exercise at least 60 mins a week, yeah, thats like 15 mins 4x a week, and I barely make that! I drink lots of water, and eat SPOUTED grain bread, aslo I am drinking organic rasberry leaf tea, it supports a womans reproducrive system, and is safe in lactation, and in pregnancy in the 3-rd trimester. Anyways, I really hope this helps, let me know!!

Thumbs up I have had GREAT success treating PCOS with alternatives

I have had GREAT success treating my PCOS by doing candida/yeast control.

I didn't have any obvious yeast symptoms, but when I did yeast control on 3 separate occasions, with 3 different things, I had an improvement in my PCOS symptoms within 1 month, and the 2 times I was TTC, I got pregnant within 3-4 months.

The third time, I wasn't TTC, my cycles became regular 28 day cycles, and it has been much easier to lose weight (58 lbs so far). Eating healthier, and using my herbal weight loss capsules is finally giving me better results.

And I can tell that I am ovulating. I don't have any ovulation tests, but I sure can feel the symptoms, and I will check my calender, and sure enough, it is CD14. I am not TTC yet, but at least I know that when I am ready that I will be able to.

There are many herbs, meds and methods that can kill, or control a yeast overgrowth in the body, including garlic, a low-carb diet, and pro-biotics. I have listed several others on my website.

I was on the herb-nutrition thing d-chiro-inositol (DCI). Bought from chiralbalance.com in Texas. IMO it stopped my bleeding I had for 2 YEARS and got us our bfp, then sustained the little tyke through pg. Met was not for me, made me miserable. Letrozole didn't work. Clomid worked even less. Never tried Vitex etc.
