I am looking for an experienced and compassionate reproductive endocrinologist in the DC area. Does anyone have recommendations? I have had PCOS for 10 years and now am planning to start a family.

I am also looking for one in the DC area too. I was recently diagnosed and this is all very confusing and frustrating...someone please help!!

If you are near Gaithersburg, MD, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Frank Chang at Shady Grove Fertility. I felt really comfortable with him the second I met him!

When I was trying to get pregnant, I was referred to Shady Grove too. I went to the Fairfax office at Fairfax Hospital on Gallows. Paulette Brown was my doc. Fabulous. I now have a 13 month old, thanks to Shady Grove.

Since having the baby, I have learned that PCOS is not just about fertility. I'm looking for a general doctor who specializes in PCOS so that I can continue to monitor my overall health (cholesterol, hormone levels, etc.)

Any ideas???

Thanks much! I also found the name of a guy at VCU in Richmond who does research on PCOS and seems to be good: John Nestler.

Hello,

I am not yet trying to have children, but so far, my ob-gyn is a very compassionate and responsive doctor. She is Dr. Sandra Abraham-Hebert at Women First OB-GYN Associates. They are located in Silver Spring, MD on New Hampshire just inside the beltway.

Also, she referred me to an endocrinologist, who has helped me even more. That doctor is Dr. Lynn Gaynes at Maryland Endocrine. Their offices are in Laurel and Columbia, MD.

I hope that helps anyone looking! It's better than doing trial-and-error doctor visits and wasting all of those co-pays! Best of luck to everyone!
