Default Looking for an RE in Houston!

Anyone know of a good RE in or around Houston, TX? (Actually, I'm just north of Houston, so Spring/Conroe area would be GREAT if possible...but having trouble finding many at all believe it or not.)

Thumbs up

I did alot of research to find a good RE that focused on PCOS as well as fertility. Dr. Michael Allon is located at beltway8 and I10 by willcrest. He also has new location in The Woodlands. I've read so many good things about him as a doctor. He is voted Top Doc by H Texas as well as Super Doctor by Texas Monthly. He is also president of the local chapter PCOS.
I just had my first appt with him yesteday 1/19 and I was impress with just having a consultation. He wanted me in right away for labs and knew exacty what he wanted to do for me from the very first time I started talking. He basically just looked at me and knew what was going on with me! Loved that, because I was turned off by doctors when I presented this condition to them 10 years ago and they said NO, nothing was wrong, and just put me on bcp. Hope you try him out!
Since I am new to soulcysters and can not post a direct link, go to search engine and type in dr allon houston and you will get his webite.
Good Luck

Hi! I also was referred to Dr. Allon by my OBGYN. I saw him on 1/16 & 1/19. On the 16th was my first consulatation. I am pregnant and he is the one who discovered it. My DH & I weren't trying but it was a very pleasant surprise. He is wonderful. He truly is concerned about your health and not just trying to get you pregnant. My sister also has PCOS and her OBGYN just did whatever was necessary to get her pregnant and didn't try to get her healthy. She still has very irregular periods but she won't go see the dr's I am seeing.

His website is w w w dot drallon dot com

I hope you get the website. Just remove all the spaces. It wouldn't let me type it in.

You may have already found someone but, Fertility Specialists of Houston is awesome. I especially like Dr's Dunn and Witz. Both are board certified, excellent physicians and they are consistently on the "Best of" lists.
Dr. Dunn helped me conceive my first child and is currently overseeing my IVF cycle to conceive a second child. He is hands down the best Dr I've every worked with.
Good luck.

Hi,

My OB/GYN referred me to Dr. Allon back in 09/08. I just saw him on 2/23...he's a wonderful doctor, very understanding. I'm glad that I was sent to him. He just make you feel comfortable about your whole situation!!

Are the recommendations above all "figure friendly"? Nothing worse to a "big" gal then to have to listen to criticism about that as well. Are they nice about it?

LOL Dr. Allon told me once that I was a big girl but he immediately said that wasn't meant to be mean, we are going to help you with that. I'm used to it. I've been big all my life and know that I can't help it!!! Its the way I am! Good Luck!

Not sure if you found one or not but I love mine. He is Dr. Robert McWilliams. He's main office is off Fannin next to the Women's center but I believe he has other offices around town. He's my 2nd RE and I wouldn't change him for anything.

Default Dr. Allon in Houston near I-10 and Beltway 8

Thought I'd refer to the website for Dr. Allon in Houston. I've made an appointment for early April. The website has some good info and describes what panel of tests they conduct for PCOS patients. I'm too new to post URLs. Anyway, his site is drallon dot com

Oh, and I forgot... The're website says that they have a PCOS support group that meets the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm at 10901 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079 Tel # (713)467-4488. The staff person I spoke with at the Center that it is usually about 10 women who meet. Haven't gone yet, but I'd like to try it. :-)

I also see Dr. Dunn and I love him. I am just coming to realize how lucky we are to live here and have access to all these wonderful REs.
