Default Looking for RE in OKC area?

Hello,

I have an appointment in December to see Dr. Rasheff (sp?) but after reading that he'll just tell you to loose weight I'm rethinking that decision. I'm not considered overweight but I could stand to loose a few pounds... I just don't want to feel like I'm being brushed off like I have before. Has anyone had any luck with someone recently that's maybe a little more compassionate?

Thanks in advance!
Kathy

Kathy,

I lived in OKC for several years and I saw Dr. Gilbert Haas. I've heard varying opinions but the guy was fabulous to me. I went to him not knowing what (if anything was wrong) before I was "infertile" (textbook definition) and he agreed to perform a full head to toe physical w/ the stipulation that if he didn't find anything that he'd tell me to go home and come back in a few months when I would officially be considered infertile (12 mos ttc w/o preg ). Of course he found out I had pcos after running bloodwork and doing a vaginal ultrasound. His staff was fabulous too. That's a big deal because sometimes you'll have a great doc but the staff is rotten!

Kathy,

I would recommend Dr. Carl Hansen. He is in the same office with Dr. Haas. I do NOT care for Dr. Haas. I started out with him in 2003. I could go into great detail, however, the short of it is that I found him to be very difficult to communicate with. We had our good moments but all in all dealing with him was often more stressful to me than dealing w/ my PCOS and IF. On the up side I did get pregnant. When we decided to go for #2. I called the office and requested to see the other doctor in the practice which I had met briefly once before~ Dr. Hansen. I loved him! He has a much better attitude and is easy to communicate with and is open to listening to you and your concerns (Dr Haas- not so much- he is in his own world). I also spent some time with the third doctor there Dr. Natasha Craig. She is incredibly nice and easy to talk to as well. I have always found the staff and nurses there to be great. I have NEVER been made to feel fat there and I am overweight (5'11" 260lbs). In fact other than an initial weigh in, I was never weighed again. I have two beautiful boys.
