Lightbulb looking for a starchy food substitute...

title says it all... i love pasta, potatos and rice, i want to start to eat me meats but i dont like meat unless i have pasta with it... and i really dont want to stick to the low carb pastas... i guess u can say i just want to curb all starches for now... any help??? suggestions???

Have you ever tried spaghetti squash? It actually tastes similar to pasta and is low in carbs. I really like it as a side dish because I feel like I'm having pasta.

I've never seen it ready made, but it is pretty easy to cook. I usually cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, stick it in the microwave until it gets tender. My microwave is super powered, so it usually doesn't take more than fifteen minutes. Then, you take a fork and pull the stuff out. It comes out looking like spaghetti. You will know it is done when it separates easily.
