I brought up PCOS to 2 family Drs over the past 5 years, both tested me and said I didn't have it, eventually I accepted their diagnosis.
Recently I was seeing a specialist for thyroid problems and while doing countless blood tests and scans, the speacialist said "Oh by the way, you also have a condition called PCOS". Even after that my cysts filled ultrasound came back and the reading Dr of the US said "There are cysts but they do not indicate PCOS".
Luckily this Dr is the first one I have ever met who seems to listen to me so she was puzzled but not swayed.
I say, trust your gut, you may not be able to find a Dr who will treat you with the meds for PCOS but you may find it worthwhile to try out some alternative therapies that are out there.
I have been discovering (much to my dismay) that for all the schooling they get, a lot of Drs don't seem to know very much.
