Looooooong cycle with Clomid??

Hello girls,

I was wondering if anyone else has had a really long cycle on Clomid. I am now on CD 39! I don't have a regular 28 day cycle, but my cycles usually come by day 31 to 33. I've POAS twice, both negative. What do I do??!! Should I start Progesterone cream to start AF, or do I just wait and wait and wait some more!

I am on the same boat as you. THis is my longest cycle. Never had problems before. Lots of PMS symptoms but nothing. I am on day 35. still waiting for something to happen and nothing but BFN when I check. Hopefully someone has answers..

well im not sure if this will be too helpful but... my cycle was also long but my doc said if i O'd (which i did) then i would eventually start but he said that if i had a neg preg test that i could start the provera again if i still didnt start my AF ten days after i should have.

I have long cycles on clomid. I O'd the 2nd time I took it on CD31. The 3rd time I didn't O, so I started taking provera on CD45 or so. This time, I was sure I didn't O, as I took OPKs until CD31 and nothing. I ordered my rx for provera but then had surgery and just generally put it off. Then I found out I was pg. I O'd on around CD39...so it can happen with late O's...

Congrats Sheepie! I noticed you started Met XR recently. Are you insulin resistant? I take it, but don't have IR. My LH level is really high compared to my FSH, so my OB said Clomid won't work for me. Would you mind sharing your medical history? You can PM me if you'd like.

I'm not IR. MY doctor put me on it soley for TTC purposes. I started on regular Met 1500 since last November (06) and I don't think it was working, since I never got AF with it. I wanted to stop taking it, which was when my dr. switched me to XR 2000mg in July. He actually switched me earlier but it made me SO lightheaded in combo with the clomid, so I had to wait until I was all Clomid-ed out.

I cannot for the life of me remember what was wacky in my diagnostic bloodwork. I was so shocked (I went in to the dr. b/c I had gone off BCPs and not gotten my period for a few months, but I had always had irregular periods when I wasn't on BCPs, so I figured it was b/c I was too skinny or something) so I was shocked when he came in and told me about my testosterone being high, etc. He showed me the #s, but I can't remember them.

I don't know what to tell you about starting the provera. I mean, if I had done it when I originally wanted to, this pg would never have happened. This last time, I was of the mindset of I didn't want to waste time just waiting around for AF to come or not come, when I knew I didn't O. So that's why early in my CD30s I got the refill for the provera. I didn't take it though, first because I was just a little sick and tired of TTC and taking drugs and all that, and then because I was having surgery and wouldn't be able to BD for a while, so I didn't want to take any chances that I would miss my opportunity.

So I waited. I even took a HPT on the day of my surgery, which was CD42 and it was negative. So then I just KNEW the cycle was a bust based on when hubby and I BD'd. BUt, we BD'd just for fun the Sat. before my surgery...and that's what did it...I got my positive HPT on CD53.
