Unhappy Loosing hair help!

I was diagnosed in 2001 with PCOS. I was trying to get pregnant and that is how I found out. I only received help in getting pregnant which I did but I was never told the other aspects of PCOS and the risks and what can happen to my body. I am 31 now and I am loosing my hair! I have always had thich beautiful curly hair and now I am going bald. This is devistating to me. I can't really get answers as what to do. Is there anything I can do to stop it and make it grow again??? I have about 1/3 of the hair I used to and it is very noticable on top that it is thining. I also have facial hair on my chin very embarassing anything I can do about that? I am so glad I found this site now I dont feel alone. My doc just started me on metformin 1500 mg a day.

Thanks!

ive had problems with hair loss - my gynaecologist thinks it could be linked to my low ferritin/iron levels - it may be a good idea to get your levels checked, but may be worth trying to eat more iron rich foods such as red meat, spinach, figs, apricots etc anyway?! go to: http://www.bloodbook.com/iron-foods.html
also see the forum eva mentioned: http://www.soulcysters.net/forumdisplay.php?f=22
(hope that works!) pm me anytime u want to, have a merry christmas!
