DH and I are done with the homestudy and have signed a contract with an agency that is valid for two years - we are one year into it already and have had no birthmothers contact us at all. i'm starting to think motherhood is never going to happen for me. this is our last option. we did two rounds of IVF, one unsuccessful, one that was but i MC'd at 8 weeks. we are out of money, and i am very nearly out of hope. it's a horrible feeling and i can't shake it no matter what.

I am very sorry that it is taking such a long time for you. When you signed with the agency did the tell you how long on average it takes people to get matched with a bm? You are in my prayers as I know how frusterating this all can be.

Get started on signing up with the free services that are matches for bm. handstohold.com. go to adoption.com. There are situations on there as well...can I also ask what agency you signed with? How much did you have to pay? If you are matched through another route do you get your money back?
We are in exactly the same position. The adoption agency we are with is our last hope, and so far they have not even shown our profile. I know exactly what you are going through, and I wish I could say something that would make you feel better. However, there is nothing on Earth that anybody could say that would make me feel better, and I am sure you are feeling the same. Good luck, and hopefully some day our dreams of having a child to love will come true...
I wish there was something I could say to make you ladies feel better. I am fixing to start looking into adoption because I am taking a break from TTC. I dont want to waste money on fertility treatments that dont work if I need that money to adopt a child. I feel hopeless as well right now. My niece (5) and twin sister lives with me and it makes it harder everyday to know that I cant easily have a baby of my own and my sister did (1) month of treatment and then got pregnant with my niece. TOTALLY SICKENING :-( Sorry for the rant.

I know how hard it is to have to wait. I didn't do domestic, but the wait was still very very hard. It took a year and a half for me, so stick in there and what kept me going is knowing there is a child out there specifically for us, its not about getting a child as soon as possible, it's about getting the child meant for you whether through TTC or adoption. Hang in there, I definitely can empathize, I've totally been there.
My husband will not even think about adoption. It is very upsetting. I have lost hope that I will have a child of my own by TTC or adoption. I am just trying to go out with our friends and not think about it. The only thing I think about is when our friends start having kids it will kill me. :-(

I am sorry to hear that. I had a great experience with the agency we went with. we waited 3 months after our homestudy was complete and didn't pay anything really until the placement of the child. If you have any questions feel free to ask

there is also foster care/ foster care adoption... many people don't think of this... as many as 1/3 of kids entering care get adopted by their foster parents, 1/3 end up adopted by family, and 1/3 end up going home... i thought i had no hope of adopting, but within 7 months 5 week old twin girls were placed with me... I adopted them at 13 months...
