My hair had been doing fairly well for the past couple of years and I managed to grow it long again and it even looked fairly thick.
For the past month, my hair had been shedding more than usual but tonight in the shower, my hair was coming out by the handfuls. It is so noticeable already around my hairline. I'm going to have to see if I can get an appointment to get a weave sometime this week.

have you tried Rogaine? I use the generic kind so it's pretty cheap. My hair isn't as thick as it once was but at least it isn't falling everywhere like it used to. It's sort of a pain in the butt and you have to wait about 6 months to really notice an improvement but it might help.
I too have severe hair thinnign I have tried every availabe drug to combat it inclduing rogaine but my lsos was so diffusse it wasnt halting or slowing it .....
Hair loss has been SO hard to deal with .. I havent felt good about myself for over two years... I miss holding my head up high and dare i say it I HATE windy days as this causes me severe anxiety .. today its damp and my horrid hair has frizzed the onlyhari that looks good are my extensions ... this is sould destroying

Thank you Moxie and Sally. I've tried everything, including Rogaine. Everyone from my hairdresser to my dermatologist to my endocrinologist says that this is "hereditary" (my BROTHERS have thicker hair than I do) and that there's nothing that they can do that I haven't already done. I'm having a really difficult time with this. I really couldn't afford to lose any more of my hair.
Today I'm wearing a wig and I'll be wearing one until I'm able to get a weave.
