Arrow Lost Cyster came back!

Hi ladies I found this wonderful community over a year ago and lost touch. I am SO happy I found my way back.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago and started Metformin. In those two years nothing has worked to help regluate my cycle. Infact my periods were even heavier than ever. I've been on and off counteless BCP's and still nothing. I was also hospitalized for ruptured cysts, ouch! Finally in May of this year my GYN decided that we would try a D&C to clean me out. We had the hopes that it would give me a "clean slate" so to speak. Everything went off without a hitch and I was excited to maybe be regular and not so heavy for once in my life. The plan was to start me on Yaz after my 1st post op cycle. Well I got my 1st period post op on June 18th and as of today I still have it!!! I saw my GYN last thursday and she said she's not sure of what's causing my unusualy long period. Not to mention it's extremely heavy with clotting, sorry if TMI. I go back August 1st and an IUD was discussed. I'm very very discouraged, not to mention worn out both physically and mentally. As all this is going on I was also being tested for cancer. So to say I'm stressed out is an understatemnt. I feel very alone, like no one understands. People say "oh it's just a period how bad can it be?"

Anyway does this sound familar with anyone else? The constant heavy bleeding? What worked for you? I'm at my wits end with all of this. I feel like no one knows what's going on. It feels so good to be able to vent with other women who go through these same things.

Eva were you having the same symptoms as me? The constant extremely heavy period? Do you continue to have a period now or has it stopped with the IUD? Anything you dont like about it? My doctor said someone women stop having a cycle and some don't. Thanx!

I had the same exact symptoms as you Nicole. The dr was able to control my bleeding by placing me on yaz but I didnt take it in the normal way. I had to take 3 one day and then 2 for the next two days and then I continued with 1 a day thru 3 packs and then I would take a week off of them. it still took one full cycle of pills before the bleeding stopped. I bled up to 18 months straight and it was the same type of bleeding as what you were describing. I went off of the yaz and am now again trying to get the constant bleeding to stop again. So I feel your pain there. Good Luck with everything!!!
