I was diagnosed early December with insulin resistance and pcos, at the age of 17. I started out on Metformin 24/h pills taken once in the morning and Enjuvia .45 and Prometrium (i forget the dosage) I decided to see an Endo a few weeks ago and she changed my medication now I'm on metformin 800mg(twice a day) and YAZ.
i'm so new to this and i'm just looking for support... i think this is the right place... @_@
one of the main things that ive been worrying about is my hair loss, it's really noticeable and effects my self esteem greatly, before I started the medication my hair was fine though... it's been bugging me like no tomorrow! my next endo appointment is next month, she said if i still have the hair loss/growth problem then she was going to stick me on spiro. Does this really help?
any help or advice for a newbie like me? anything will be appreciated. @_@

Hi and welcome to SC! It sounds like your drs are on the right track about your medications. Most of us are one Met with some form of BCP unless of course you are trying to get pregnant. Spiro has worked for a lot of ladies on here for their hair problems too so I would def ask about it at your next appt. Check out the hair board for more info and success stories. You will find a ton of info and support here and don't be shy to ask anything at all. Check the top of each section for stickies which usually have some great articles and info on any topic related to PCOS.
