Post Lost too much weight?

Hey, I've been on Metformin for about 2 weeks now, and my appetite has tremendously decreased. But, I'm only 114 pounds, and 5'5'', so I can' t afford to loose much weight. Anyone know of anything that helps your appetite?

I used to have this problem as well a few yrs back. At the time I was also about your wt and am the same ht. I was attempting 1500 Met/day and was quite sick on it. My OB cut my meds back to 1000/day as she didn't want me losing more wt. I was fine after that. You have only been on it for 2 wks so hang on a bit longer. Is it nausea that is making you lose your appetite? Try taking the Met with milk or food, as that can settle your stomach. I'm not sure it you're gradually working up to a particular dose or not but I think most people take 1 pill/day for a week then work up to 2 the next, and finally 3/day. But discuss it with your Dr. to see what changes if any may work for you.

Good luck

I went to the doc yesterday, and I've lost 6 pounds in two weeks. The doc didn't seemed concerned with it, but I hope I don't lose too much more!! Maybe you lose more at first.

Have you tried adding some "good" fats to your diet? Like nuts, avocado, etc? Sometimes adding more fat will help you stop losing. Make sure you only add the heart healthy kind though.
