This going to be long so bare with me please. I have not had any blood work done but when I went to the gyno b/c of irregular af's, she did an ultrasound and my ovaries are covered with cysts. Then she did a lap. and three days later her nurse told me that the results where pcos. When I spoke to the dc. I told her about what info I had from this site. She was speechless, she just kept saying my symptoms were symptomatic with pcos. Now, I don't have insurance and neither dh or I are working right now, so I can't afford to go back to dc. or specialist. So, if someone could answer some questions for me it would help me out.
1. Even though I've never had the blood work, could I still treat the symptoms with herbs and them work on me?

2. How do I find out when I ovulate?

3. How do I determine my cd?

My symptoms include:
weight gain (mainly in mid section)
very irregular af's (sometimes lasting two months or more and not coming for two months or so)
lots of blood clots
thinning hair on head
extra hair on hands and face
headaches
ttc for about years with no luck
no sex drive

there may be more, but that's just some of them.

OK let me say this.... I just got insurance so I was also dealing with no insurance and the PCOS issue. Let's see...

How do you find when you ovulate- (1) take your temperature very morning before getting out of bed. charting shows dips and peaks. (2) Cervical Mucous (CM) test. CM gets egg white EWCM near ovulation. You start to get very slippery and an abundance at this time. (3) Also there is teh cevix test. You have to insert your fingers into your vagina and feel you cervix. If it is hard lik eteh tip of your nose and closed, you aren't O'ing but if it is soft and open, you are. (4) OPKs - There are strips and Monitors that measure estrogen and LH surges.

How do you determine CD? When you get AF full force (not spotting), that is CD1... then it goes from there until you get her again.

OK.. I can't help ya with pills until you tell me more..... What ar eyou trying to do? Get pregnant? What symptoms are you trying to help? THis will help me steer you in a direction.
