Question Lots of questions...

I'm sure many of you have seen me post questions before but I have lots of them. After I was Dxed the doctor never asked me to get an ultasound. Is that normal or is that something that should be requested after being Dxed? I just want to be safe and know the full extent of my PCOS.

I really think it depends on the doctor. It took me four doctors for one to finally request an ultrasound.

I was thinking about just going on my own. My insurance doesn't require a referral. Like I said just to be on the safe side.

I didn't have one for about 5 years after I was diagnosed. THe dr. only prescribed one to make sure I didn't have other things going on....

I just got diagnosed....i have blood work tomorrow as well as an ultrasound. I think it should be part of a normal exam, bc they have to see if your ovaries are polycystic!!You should request one, just to be on the safe side

I think its important. I had two ultrasounds my first day. Right when I found out we did and invasive US to see the endometrium and found out my right ovary is enlarged and the endometrium was twice as big as it needed to be. We did a pap and biopsy that day to test for cancer. it could be something but it could be nothing.

I didn't have an ultrasound. I had blood work done and that's all. After my dr got my results back, someone from his office called me and told me my labs were consistent with PCOS.

I was dxed the same way.The next day I stated my meds.
Before I was dxed she said she was going to test me for it and if I had it she MIGHT ask me to get an ultrasound but she didn't. It made me curious.
