| Bun in the oven..  Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Florida                |  Happy Mother's Day girls!!! We went to visit a builder who had an inventory home that looked interesting. It is SUCH a nice house that will be done in July, so we would stay with my folks for a month or so. The salesperson is working on the price to see if she can get it down to the level we need. I'm so nervous! This has been a whirlwind 72 hours. I almost feel like this house is nicer that we deserve! Every single upgrade that we could think of is standard on the house.. I mean, EVERYTHING. Granite on every countertop, brushed bronze fixtures, 18in ceramic tile in the kitchen & baths, tile mosaic in the entry, pavers outside. There's not a thing we would have to do for a LONG time, which is really attractive. Anyway, I'm kind of overwhelmed and nervous about this and I'm SO afraid to make the wrong decision!!! We should hear from them tomorrow about the price and whether they can make it right for us. I never knew this process was so scary. Anyhoo, keep us in prayers please!!!! Big choices ahead.

If you're comfortable I'd try to walk around the neighborhood - see if you can get a feel for the neighbors, and maybe someone will come talk to you - let you know their experience with the builders. We LOVE LOVE LOVE our neighborhood - but a lot of the neighbors have had issues with the builders - we've had some minor ones...but nothing major...and almost 2 years later unless something drastic happens I guess it now falls to us/insurance rather than builder. But I know a home in the more expensive area of our subdivision had mold issues in the beams/studs used in the home - and even after being found by an independent and then company mold inspector the builder didn't want to buy back the house. The owner put up a huge sign in their yard - 2 days later the builder bought the house back. Jade - the flowers are beautiful!
