Just wandering whether anyone else except for me suffers from low blood pressure. I am constantly tired and today was very light headed so took my blood pressure and it was 78/58 mmHg whereas normal is 120/80. Dont know what to do about this. Last time I was checked it was 85/60, so not much better than today.
I already drink 2 litres of water per day and one cup of coffee which is supposed to raise blood pressure so was wandering whether anyone had similar experiences and advice.
Being so fatigues all the time is absolutely crap, especially considering that I need to be on my feet for about 10 hours a day for work
Looking forward to your replies,
Mariya.
I had the problem when I was on 200mg of spiro a day, because it's intended orginally for blood pressure. Are you on spiro? You could be having the same problem.
Hi Mariya,
I've always had low blood pressure and even have some strange disorder I can't even remember the name of, that they diagnosed me with as a child by putting me on a "tilt table". The table basically reproduced sitting up from a lying down position at various speeds. I passed right out and failed.
My blood pressure has been as low as yours before, even a bit lower, and not to scare you unduly, but my doctor freaked. I was feeling just as you described: dizzy, out of sorts, and I was even nauseated. He explained to me that if the difference between your top and bottom numbers (forget their proper names!) are 20 or less apart, your heart can be failing. Mine wasn't. Believe me, they checked! But you really might want to get that checked out. If you have a history of low blood pressure it's probably nothing, but one never knows and it pays to be careful with one's heart!
Sometimes just some IV fluids have set me straight, and I always stay very well hydrated. I always feel like a million bucks after just a simple bag or two of "Ringer's Solution" to re-hydrate me, but harken to my words... if you ever go in to have an IV while having low blood pressure and they can't get the full-sized IV in easily, immediately ask for a "ped (prounounced "peed") stick". This is a pediatric sized IV. Our veins can be tiny while our blood pressure is low and this could save you from the hell of the 16 IV sticks I once went through at the hands of some local rubes. The ped stick goes right in, though!
I hope you feel better soon and that your doctor(s) can help you out!
Dana

Sounds like VasoVagal syncope...you can get diagnosed with that by doing a tilt table test. My sister has it and she has low blood pressure and she has "episodes" where she feels real weak like passing out. She is on medication for it now and is doing better. One other thing the dr. told her to do to help her blood pressure was to increase her salt intake.
