I just started taking new meds they are called Glyburide--> aka Micronase. I started out taking 1 a day now i am up to taking 2 a day. I am IR/diabetes type 2 so when i take them it makes my blood sugar drop. Now here is my question, if any of you are on meds does it make your blood sugar drop and how do you deal with it? If anyone has any info for me please let me know! Thanks <3
I do know that when my BS drops that I can eat cheese or drink OJ and it normally levels out.
Do you have a meter so that you can check it?

You can get them at Wal*Mart of any other place that has a pharmacy (K-Mart, CVS, WalGreens, Target -- the only places that come to mind).
My ins company pays for mine because I need it, y ou might wanna check into that.

I don't have low blood sugar caused by medications but my low blood sugar comes from my PCOS which is causing hypoglycemia in me. I know that when my blood sugar drops you should test it with a meter to see how low it is and immediatly try and bring it up with some sort of food. Glucose tablets work the best for me but if you're feeling particularly bad and need something that works even faster there's a gel sort of icing that comes in a tube that you can squirt directly into your mouth and it will get into your system faster.
How much are the meters im intrested in getting one because I've never really monitered my blood sugar levels my auntie is insulin dependent so she is always testin hers I would'nt mind getting one and recordin my levels every day for like 2 weeks and see what foods are best if you know what i mean

Jess since your Auntie Is A DM she may have an extra one. (People that are tend to get them from companies every year or so. ) Ask her and see! (That's how I got mine!)
