Default Low carb diet + Metformin

I have been taking 1000mg metformin ER for 4 months. This past month I have been soooooooooooo tired I have to focus on telling my legs 'left, right, left' whilst walking. I could sleep all day. SHould I reduce my dose of met whilst I am reducing my carbs. I am only eating vegetables and protein. No fruit or starchy carbs so my insulin levels should be pretty stable. I have low carbed before and usually this gives me oodles of energy. What do you all think?
