Question Low estrogen after miscarriage

Does anybody know what would cause low estrogen after a miscarriage?
Is it common?
What would cause it?
My doctor thinks that my secondary amenorhea is due to either that or scarring.
I don't have other symptoms of low estrogen so I want to know if it's common.
I know that low estrogen can be caused by ovarian failure but if ovarian failure wasn't an issue 8 months ago could it be now? I had a healthy reserve but could that have some how changed?
My doctor's next step is to give me estrogen to ensure endometrial proliferation, followed by a progestin to induce a period. If this doesn't work it will most likely confirm that it is Ashermans syndrome and not low estrogen.

This is just my opinion, but I think this doctor is giving you the run-around and over-medicating you. Our bodies need time to heal and get back to some kind of normal on their own. Also, if this is the doctor who did the d&c, definitely do not let him perform another procedure on you. If he scarred you the first time, would you want to give him another chance to mess around in there? He should pay for someone else to remove adhesions if he caused them, but meanwhile, even a consultation with a different doc would be a good idea.
Hugs! I hope this takes care of itself soon!

This wasn't the doctor that did the d&c. A fellow colleague at the hospital did the d&c the day I miscarried cause I went into labour and they needed to take imediate action.
The sad thing is after having bad experience after bad experience with different clinics I have done my homework & this guy is the best in my area of the country. I have to go in Tuesday for a beta(like that could ever happen since I don't ovulate & dh has dry orgasms) before I can start the estrogen but from what I have read today I think Tuesday there is going to be alot of fingerpointing.
