Low Libido?

Hello All,

I'm in my 20's, and I've just been recently diagnosed with PCOS based on bloodwork, and clinical symptoms. It's something I've suspected for a long time, but it took an astute doctor, because I'm relatively thin, and not the sterotypical picture.

I have not been on any birth control pills or hormones for the past 4 years. During that time, my libido has gone to crap, despite having a wonderful loving husband. I don't feel that my lack of desire has anything to do with our relationship.

I thought that typically, the excess of testosterone that PCOS women's ovaries produced would increase libido if anything. Now, I've just begun a regimine of birth control pills to help combat the other PCOS symptoms, but I've read here that a lot of women's libido decreases with bcp. I'm thinking to myself, how could mine get any worse!

Does anyone have some insight, or suggestions on the libido front. It bothers me a lot, and when I talked to my gynecologist, she said there wasn't much she could do because there are so many causes of low libido. Gah!

I am on anti-depressants and have noticed a severe drop in libido since going on them. I am also happily married and luckily my hubby is very patient. I've found that I do enjoy myself once started. I just have to look past the tiredness, headache or whatever and go for it. I can't punish DH because I don't feel like it. If I'm having a hard time getting to climax then he understands that I'm really not in the mood.

Thanks for the perspective. Sometimes I wonder if that's basically what I'm going to have to do as well.

Hopefully, one way or another, I'll find balance.

I have been having problems too. I dont most of the time feel dh inside me (TMI i know) but when im on top i do better. Im not sure why though. I wonder why I cant enjoy it like that. instead i have to have clitoral stimulation. I was wondering if anyone has this problem too? Sometimes, very rarely, i can enjoy it while im on top but the bottom mostly is a no go!it doesnt really hurt or anything but just not enjoyable! thanks ladies! lisattc

I too have a really low sex drive. I thank my lucky stars that DBF is so patient. He understands what I'm feeling. Chas, I'm like you, once I get started I alright, but I takes a lot to get me in the mood.
If anyone has any suggestions...

I have low sex drive too. I do enjoy it once we're at it, but I don't generally think to be the one who initiates it. The exception to this was when I was pregnant, and I wanted it all the time.

Sorry I'm no help but it's good to know we're not alone.

If he's been begging and the kids are in bed and it's still fairly early I'll tell him to get in bed we are going to have some fun. We've even done it in the middle of the day. Just tell the kids we are going to talk in private. Around this time of year it works well, they think we are discussing their Christmas presents. Just a quick few minutes to get together and regroup as a couple. We don't need the candles, lace and all that to regroup.

When we were ttc I was all over him. I wanted a baby so bad. I think he got spoiled by that and didn't understand where all that went once I was pregnant. Poor guy got so confused.

As for clitoral stimulation, yeah, that's me too. We have a silver bullet. Works well placed between us during intercourse. I can pretty much get off in any position then.
