Hello,

I've read a number of times on this board about people with pcos having very strong sex drives (from abundant testosterone??) but I have been experiencing the opposite problem. I turned 40 this year and I feel like the bottom has dropped right out of my sex drive. It's not that I don't enjoy sex when we have it and I still have great orgasms, I just never think about it anymore and when I do, it just seems like such a bother! What's up with that??

Anyway, any ideas about herbals I might take to get myself back in gear? Vitex? Dong Quai? Progesterone Cream? I'm no longer ttc so I don't have to worry about that sort of thing. I would love to hear anybody's suggestions.

I think Ive heard someone on this site say .that horny goat weed was the herb she took for low sex drive.....you can get it at wal-mart or GNC.. I hope this helps..

My husband has taken the horny goat weed with good success. I find that supplementing with NPC helps me the most. I have never had a problem with my sex drive until the past year. I am like Chris, I enjoy sex very much also but it does seem a little bothersome when I have to think about it. I guess it is due to the fact that our daughter is three and always lurking around and it isn't as spontaneous as it used to be, and we settle for a late night get together.

I think it's safe to say that my sex drive DOESNT EXIST! I am going to try the horny goat weed though. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hello,

I Had a very very strong *** ( I'm at the library) for my teen years. I was also dx at 13 years old. From 18 until 21 It was very very low..now at 22 it's getting better..For me I think the reasons were:

#1. Being 240lbs and feeling unattractive, sluggish and tired.

#2. Being in an unhappy relationship

#3. Being very depressed and having low self- estem.


Now I'm down to 219 lbs, exercising every day, I'm doing well in school, I'm relationship is better, I HAVE ENERGY! and I'm taking natural meds.

I think the biggist one for having a good hight sex drive is Energy.

During teen yrs before dx libido was no problem While dating the man I am now married to, it was like a wave--some days high and out of control and then for weeks there would be no feeling. I would wonder if I was even still in love. In fact, even on our wedding day and honeymoon I struggled with finding the energy and desire. I suppose this is just one of the major struggles of having pcos. I am like you, Chris, in that I enjoy it once things get warmed up, but to think about it during the day or ever desire it--never! What exactly is horny goat weed?

I have one word only.......ASTROGLIDE.........I also was having a low sex drive spirt, we tried the glide and things are different now!!! I can say that without it I wasn't real interested, now sometimes all it takes is for me to notice the bottle laying next to the bed and I am ready to go!!!!! DH also swears on it, he isnt a kiss and tell kinda guy but that is something that he really reccomends!! just a thought, cant hurt to give it a try..

Dh and I bought "horny goat weed". He took about 6 caplets and it did not seem to work that well. I have not tried it myself, but you never know! What did work for me great though was false unicorn root while I was TTC herbally. Now - we are on a four more week hiatus. No BD until the uterus heals from surgery.

I think it was on www.hystersisters.com that I read that saw palmetto was useful for this.

I also lack the drive.Sometimes it's strong and other times non existant.I love it once I get into it but the getting me intrested takes a bit sometimes.I'll try anything.Here I thought I was the only one with this problem.Thank Goodness I'm not alone.
