This may be TMI but before I was on the pill I wanted sex all the time. I've been on it for 6 months now and I have noticed a drastic change. I could give or take sex now. My DBF thinks I'm just not attracted to him anymore and that's not the case. Does anyone else go through this too on the pill?

The same happened to me, its not your problem. BCPs actually take your sexual apetite. Ive discussed that with my doctor, and its pretty normal. Just discuss this with your boyfriend, as I did with my husband. He will understand. When the moment comes just try to go along with him, but remmember, if you are not just in the mood, thats it. BCPs low your testosterone levels, and this will lower your mood for sex. My doc says that if he took every woman from the pills, most relatioships would be saved.Dont worry its pretty normal.

i've recently experienced decreased sex drive. i started diane 35 a month ago and my sex drive is virtually nonexistant, which is rather distressing to me because i used to have quite a voracious sexual appetite. i was taking ortho-tri-cyclen and had no side effects. it was weird with the diane-35, almost like flipping a switch on or off- sex drive there one day, gone the next.
does this side effect diminsh with time? does anyone have any ideas or resources for restoring libido while on medications?

I'm on the pill temporarily for health reasons, even though I want to TTC. I have been feeling the same way. Last night I was in the mood and I tried to have sex with my husband but I couldn't get wet down there. I was wondering why this was happening to me. Now it all makes sense!

My sex drive went down alot when on the pill and my dr. said that is normal so my hubby just had to get use to it and he understood when i told him what was going on

ive heard that the pill can do that too, even worse it can have it can have sideeffects like decreased sex drive that can last even after youve stopped taking it.
i used to be on diane 35, but ive been off it for a year now. i have noticed a dramatic change in my sex drive. its a lot easier to orgasm now than it was before. for those of you that are having problems getting wet lube is a godsend! that is one of the easier problems to fix. its hard to tell the difference from the real stuff and the stuff from a bottle sorry probably tmi lol.
also from what i understand womens sex drives usually increase around the time they ovulate, so if this is the case them it would make sense that because women on the pill are in a constant state of the body thinking that it has already ovulated then it would make sense that sex drive is decreased.
My sex drive is way down on Dianette, but that is due to the antiandrogen in it. I don't know if it will get much better when I am off of it because my testosterone is much lower. DH understands and is okay with it. I agree with Sonz that personal lube is very handy to keep around during these times.

Ok after reading everyone's post I am beginning to think that I am a freak..since I started Yasmin my sex drive has really increased! I think about sex a lot more than I ever used to (sorry, TMI!) But I think that part of that may be mental because since I started on it I feel a lot more feminine and attractive so I dunno....

Funny on the pill or not my sex drive doesnt change. I want it! Especially right before AF....boy I'm like a dog in heat...its terrible!! I almost wish it wasnt like that...it kinda stinks when you are single! lol

I am on yasmin and I could not care less about sex right now! i was NEVER like this- getting off the pill soon. Hopefully i get my "groove" back, time to ttc AGAIN!
