hi all,

i have most all the symptoms of PCOS minus excessive weight gain. my symptoms are not severe (except hair loss, which seems severe to me!).

so it was surprising to learn today that i have sort of low testosterone levels---- 19. anyone else have low testosterone and still exhibit symptoms of PCOS?

Mine has never been as low as that, but it's also never been high. Even more strangely, my free testosterone and free androgen index (calculated from total testosterone and SHBG) didn't test high either. So either the tests were wrong (and blood hormone assays are, in fact, notoriously unreliable), or I'm very sensitive to an otherwise normal level of testosterone (which is probably quite common).

Did your doctor also check your free testosterone or sex hormone binding globulin?
