Default Lower Abdo Pain

Hi

I was just wondering whether any of you have issues with lower abdo pain and whether this is a part of PCOS or something else going on?

I was diagnosed with IBS about 2 years ago and have recently been diagnosed with PCOS. For about the past month I have had bad lower abdominal pain which my dr put down to the IBS however it feels different to my IBS pain. I have also had no periods for the past 5 months so was wondering if that had anything to do with it.

Have any of you found you've experienced this?

Vixy,
I have been having a bout with lower ab pain. Its on my lower right side. I have been in the ER 2 times in the past week. They checked my appendix, my ovaries and they have concluded that its a pulled muscle. I don't buy it. There has got to be something else going on in there.

Good luck, I hope that they figure out why you are having pain. Its no fun at all!!

Hi Rosie

Aww sorry to hear you've been in the ER twice this week already...how are you feeling now?

My tummy is still sore and swollen feeling...nothing seems to be making it go away...so annoying! But I dont think mine is serious enough to go to the ER though

The ER doctors don't know anything.... As long as ur blood work shows it's not ur appendix they send you away. After months of struggling I finally found out my ovaries were causing the pain b/c they were so enlarge with little cysts (laproscopic surgery). Each ovary was double the size of my uterus. I was on Lupron Depot shots for months and the pain and size of my ovaries decreased. I have IBS as well and have notice that when I'm feeling gassy or bloated the pain is worse. I think it must be pushing on my ovaries at that time. Also, if the pain moves around slightly i was told that's normal b/c ovaries can kind of float around. My pain is usually on my right side, but it can be higher or lower or closer to my hip or center. I totally understand the pain makes it impossible to do normal things or even sleep for me. Goodluck! Oh btw I also have some pain from endometriosis, but after taking care of most of that the pain persisted and that's when i found out how large my ovaries were.

I have the same issue with pain. They removed my appendix because the symptoms were almost the same but the pain was actually due to the PCOS. I still have problems with pain and they have prescribed me Ultram. I cannot take it during the day but it does help somewhat.
