Question Lower Back Pain

Since I was about 18 (im 24 now) i have had lower back problems. Whenever I do anything strenuous it bothers my back and occasionally I will do something to make it just ache for a couple days. I did that yesterday. I was lifting a chair with my sister and the next thing I know this horrible pain is shooting up and down my back. I can barely move today. The only bearable thing is to lay down in bed for a bit to take the pressure off of my back for a little bit but no matter what I do my back is killing me. I stayed home from work today because of it Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I doubt it is related to me having PCOS but I was hoping someone out there could give me an idea of why I have this chronic back pain. I'm sure it could be a number of things but I would like to have an idea of what some of the main causes are. I will get insurance again in about 3 months and as soon as I do I am going to see a dr about it but until then I am just looking for some ideas. My grandma said that she has an extra bone in her spine that causes her some problems. Does anyone know anything about that? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone!

Your best bet is to go see a chiropractor. It sounds like your back "went out" on you. A chiropractor in your area should be able to take x-rays of your back and see your discs, spine and neck areas. I have suffered from back pain that started in my lowerback and over recent years, led to pain in my hips, neck and even frequent headaches. I started working for a chiropractor about 2 months ago, and since I started, I've been receiving treatments. I haven't felt this good in years!! I can finally stand and walk around for more then a few hours without feeling 100 years old afterward. Most of the time you can search through your yellow pages and find a dr that will do a first exam for around $50-$75. At least then you'll be able to find out WHAT is causing the problem.

I feel your pain. I have had that back pain for a few years now. It finally got to the point that I could barely move. I went to a chiropractor and was DX'ed with a herniated disc. I would go see one. You could have a herniated or bulging disc. The adjustments didn't help me much but it may help you. Good luck!
