Question Luna Yoga

Recently a non-pcos friend of mine suggested the book Luna Yoga by Adelheid Ohlig and so I ordered it since it is impossible to find at a library or local bookstore.

I did a search and noticed a few of you had metioned it as a good book.

I'm wondering what results anyone has had by doing the excercises suggested?

Thanks,
D

I used to have it but I didn't use it for very long... the whole concept just seemed to quacky to me. I know there are people who swear by yoga as being therapeutic for various things but I just can't wrap my head around how assuming various poses will in any way help my hormone problems.

I think I'm too skeptical for alternative medicine...

I have been practising yoga about 6 years. It is GREAT stress reliver for me and helps with my head-aches and overall fealing, but does nothing to my hormonal problems.

Yoga doesn't do anything for my hormones but it definitely relaxes me . It works especially well when my muscles are all tensed up.

Yoga has and is changing me as a human being. I can't say that it has affected my hormone levels directly but it has definate added value.
It helps your stress levels - which in turn affect your hormones.
It also develops self discipline, which affects all parts of your life (diet, exercise, etc.).
In addition it promotes looking inward and not outward, which can help with body image and accepting other things in your life.
I got into it for the workout and found so many benefits that now I'm hooked.

Thanks for the responses ladies.

I know in general Yoga is a good relaxer/stress reducer... which is part of the reason I thought it would be at least interesting to look into Luna Yoga.

Also after reading the book (got it Friday and took the weekend to read it) there was more to it than just regular Yoga which I thought was interesting. It included some tribal/belly dancing aspects which I know has been related to fertility rites through out history.
In general I thought the book was interesting. It had some interesting suggestions for teas, and herbs.

Thanks Again!

D.
