Default Lurker no more!

So, I admit it, I've been a lurker on Soul Cysters for a couple of months. I really like this place. Mostly, I found that I could search and find so much information (there's so much here! Thank you all!), but I think I finally decided to come out of the shadows .

My husband and I have been married and TTC for two+ years (we dated for 5 years before getting married). However, he is a Marine, and he has a lot of time away from home. So, while it was depressing that we weren't getting pregnant (we -really- want 3-5 children), my mind wanted the benefit of the doubt to blame the fact that he wasn't home that often.

I have a nightmare of a story regarding how I finally became diagnosed with PCOS. I -should- take legal actions against my Dr's (ladies: avoid military Dr's at all costs, please!!), and they know I could, but I'm so tired of the situation that I don't think I'll go through with it. I'm so tired of the situation that I don't even want to explain it at the moment (bleh).

Anyway, I was finally officially diagnosed in December of 07, but I'd bet on having it 2-4 years prior. It's just gotten really bad as of late, and Dr's finally realized that there was actually a problem.

I gained a LOT of weight in a very short time when my Dr had me get on the Depo shot 7 years ago, and I had tried absolutely everything you can think of to get rid of the weight, with NO luck up until about a month and a half ago (at which time, Hallelujah, I lost some 25 lbs, and yes, healthily!).

My Dr wanted me to wait until my husband got home, and now she will probably put me on Met starting this month or next month.

I tell you what, tho, after looking through and reading TONS of posts here, I decided to try Vitex and Evening Primrose Oil, and so far, both my husband and I notice a difference. He sees it in my mood and how I act, but I just -feel- so much better. We'll see the full effects in time, I'm sure.

Anyway, my issues: no ovulation, no IR (so my Dr says), barely elevated androgens (she said that they were slightly higher, but still well within normal range), excessive hair (mostly face/neck), quite a few cysts and cyst-related issues (goodness, the pain can be really serious sometimes! My Dr prescribed serious pain meds, and I actually need to use them sometimes ), my cycle is -maybe- 60 days, or more, if I have it. Apparently, my periods really aren't linked to ovulation, either. My last ultrasound was not good, either *sigh*

Anyway, so that's (most of) my story! I'll see you all around!
