so i have been doing a lot of lurking and learning, not so much posting.

i am 23 (24 on xmas eve) and i was diagnosed at 17 but didn't care. (you can read my intro in the newbie section - it tells my story)

I live in the Tampa area of Florida, so it's hard to find a knowledgeable doctor in this field.

I am not looking to conceive, I'm not even in a relationship right now. I am working on me in 2009.

I have been on Metformin for 1 full month, and I started my second month last week. I am on 500 mg 2x a day (I do 8am and 8pm with bfast and dinner)

I have not seen any results. No weight-loss (appetite down, but no significant weight loss)

I can't exercise due to an ongoing ankle situation - I am having surgery to rebuild my tendon and ligaments in my ankle on 12/19 - so i won't be on my foot again until at least the end of February.

I'm at a loss, nothing is helping my periods....I'm falling back into a depression - I have been on Zoloft 50mg for a year now....blah

I'm just blah.

beachgirl, I am sorry that you're feeling down. I am not on Metformin but I have seen many girls here post that it takes Metformin a couple of months to start working.

There is a subforum dedicated to just Metformin. Check out all the "sticky" posts on the top. I'm sure you'll find a lot of useful info.
