Default Lutenizing Hormone and False home pregnancy tests?

Has anyone heard that a high LH level can give you a false positive on a home pregnancy test?

I have heard of cysts occasionally causing a false positive HPT... but that's it, and very rare.

No, high LH will not cause a false + on an HPT, because the HPTs specifically look for the Beta component of hcg. LH is similar to hcg, but does not contain the beta component.

PCOS women aren't usually advised to rely on ovulation predictor tests because most PCOS women have an elevated LH level all the time. It says so right on the box. Your best bet is to try BBT and cervical mucus charting. Thats a big reason why alot of PCOS women don't successfully ovulate and develop cysts instead. The LH is high most of the time so never releases the eggs because there isnt a surge. So the follicles keep growing and the eggs are never released and they become cysts. Hope this helped!
