Hi Tan, I wondered if you would get along with Avanza. I think it's a drug made to turn people into zombies. LOL I don't know about the specific drug Luvox. It is in the class of drugs called SSRI's. Others in that class would be Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Zoloft or Paxil. I take celexa. Many people do very well with SSRI's, but like all meds, they can have side effects, too. And, it does take up to 6 weeks. for them to get into your system and do their job. You may have to increase/decrease to get the proper dosage, too. But, I think you will find they are a little more helpful than remeron. Feel better soon. Lendi

Hi Tan

My DF was taking Avanza, and they turned him into the worst person ever!!! Ohh he was atrocious, really mean, and when he wasn't being mean, he was asleep, and oh my goodness, that was an effort on my behalf to stay in the bed as he was so restless it wasn't funny. The doctor put him on it to help with his restlessness, and his dreaming, but it made it 10 times worse!!

As for the Luvox, he was put onto that instead of Fluohexal, as apparently Luvox doesn't tend to stop your sex drive as much as the Fluohexal did(which was a problem since we are TTC). It has defiantely helped him out but it took a good 6 weeks for it to get into his system enough to see a difference. He hasn't been sick or anything on them, so they have been pretty good.

Hope this helps!

Good Luck
Mandi

Thanks for the replies! I feel soooo much better after stopping avanza. I was seriously irritated and angry all the time. My poor family! (and anyone else that got in my way...) I also could not stop eating, even when I was full. I am on my fourth day of a half dose of luvox and I feel a lot calmer. I dont feel sick but am having trips to the toilet!
