Points: 1,931.62 Bank: 632.54 Total Points: 2,564.16 | M/C at 6 wks... What a week and 1/2 this has been for me and DH...
First of all, I got a SURPRISE BFP on Jan 5th (1 wk ago Thurs). We weren't trying, but we were VERY happy. 1st pg for us. Saturday, I started having SMALL amt of pink spotting on the toilet paper after I pee. That continued Sun and Mon...called my doc, went to the ER. I insisted that they draw a progesterone level since I know from this site that low progesterone can play a big role in people with PCOS. So it turned out that I had a little errosion on the outside of my cervix, the cervix was closed, about 6 wks by US no fetal heart movement so they recomended follow up US (even though I was very bordeline for fetal heart movement that early), and my beta quant was in the 6000s, which was where it should be. My progesterone was 4.7, so my dr put me on supplements, 200mg/day. Relieved, I went home.
The sm spotting continued as I suspected it would...
Thurs I saw my dr in the office. She agreed that the cervical erosion was causing this spotting. My cervix was closed and there was no bleeding from the cervix. She was going to dab some medicine on the spot to stop the bleeding after she did an US. US was great, everything in place AND I saw fetal heart movement!!! She went back in to dab some medicine on the erosion and at this point she saw a very small amount of leakage from the cervix opening, but it was still closed. So she wanted me to stay home from work till tomorrow and stay off my feet.
Thurs night before I went to bed I started spotting, this time in my underwear a bit and it was red. Thurs during the night I passed my first clot. Bleeding cont very light on Fri. Fri night I passed another clot. Bleeding slowed down Sat and today. So....I assume that I am miscarrying. I went for another beta quant yest. I will get the results tomorrow. My beta quant from Thurs only went up to 12000, and the prog went up to 27.
SO...my question is for those of you will experience with early miscarriage like this...is this normal??? I'm not bleeding a ton and I'm not passing a ton of clots. I've passed more clots with a period. Is it just cause it's so early and everything is so tiny? And I'm really not cramping a whole lot either. Every once in a while I get a crampy feeling, but nothing like I expected.
I would appreciate any thoughts on this...
THANKS!!! Liz

It was actually almost lighter than a regular period and I spotted for about a week and that was it. I'll be praying for you.

My Mood: Points: 9,553.53 Bank: 7,913,722.38 Total Points: 7,923,275.91 | I had heavy bleeding at 6 weeks, 1 day with lots of clots, and was sure I was miscarrying. I went in for u/s and we saw a healthy sac and my beta was at 4199. I'm 18 weeks now.
Bleeding isn't good in pregnancy, but it doesn't always mean it's ending. What was your last beta, before the one at 12,000, and when was it? Doubling times slow down quite a bit as the numbers climb. That's to be expected. I think when it's over 10,000, the expected doubling time is over 96 hours. Let us know when you get the next results back what they are. Another ultrasound might give you a better idea of what's going on in there.
Good luck to you. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

In most cases of loss, there was nothing anyone could do to change the outcome, so just take care of yourself and hope for the best. We'd definitely like to hear a good update, but we'll be here either way. (((hugs)))

Points: 916.00 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 916.00 | I had a miscarriage in November, I was 5w4d...
Mine happened like this:
Tuesday, about midday - went to the toilet & noticed I was spotting - freaked out big time, and soon enough after that, I started cramping. My midwife came over, convinced me I was fine & then gave me a script for a UTI that I had, and told me just to rest.
Wednesday - no cramping, but still light spotting. Stayed on the couch all day
Thursday - no cramping, but still spotting. Rang midwife again - she said i'd be okay...
Friday - the spotting seemed to go away! Hooray I thought. But that night, I started spotting heavier, and the blood was bright red...
Saturday - woke up with cramping - went ot the toilet, more blood... but it wasn't as painful (the cramping) or as much (the bleeding) as i thought it'd be... Went to the mall with my sister & our friend to take mind off things - was wearing pantyliner, went ot the toilet & had soaked half of it - and also passed a rather big clot... Another hour later, I passed more clots.. and this continued until about 8.30 that night..... I rang my midwife and she said it sounded pretty bad, and that i'd probably miscarried....
Sunday - very light spotting for the first half of the day - then really none!
Monday - went for U/S and it confirmed I had had a complete miscarriage.
It was nowhere near as painful, or heavy as I had thought it would be, so it still left me some hope... but then the scan kinda blew all that away.

Points: 1,931.62 Bank: 632.54 Total Points: 2,564.16 | First of all, I just want to thank each and everyone of you for your kind thoughts, prayers, and encouragement. They are helping me each step of the way!!!
Yesterday I got my beta back from Sat, it went up to the 18000s from the 12000s.So it didn't double, but it went up significantly and that was after I passed a bit of clot. My doctor told me that ideally the #s should double, but studies show that anything above a 66% increase is good. I am pretty close to that. Also, I've seen women on this website talk about how their #s didn't double and they had healthy pg. I am going back today for another blood test to see if it cont to go up. I have an appt with my doctor on Fri for a repeat US. I have not bled AT ALL, not even a drop of blood since Sun late afternoon. I am still taking it easy, of course no sex...like I even have the desire to have sex now!!! I hate to get my hopes up because I had finally accepted what was going on and I was OK with it, then I got positive results. I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic.
Please cont to keep us in your prayers!!!! I will keep you updated...
Liz
