I was wondering if anyone has had a miscarriage resulting from a trisomy 3. I just was given the lab results and I have no clue wha that means, this is my second miscarriage in 7 months. Both at nine weeks. There might of been a third chemical m/c as well. I am very worried that I will have another m/c and I dont feel like I could handle it. Does anyone have any information on this. There isnt much online.
I think I felt better when we thought it was my body that was the issue at least then we could try and prevent the m/c.
I'm so sorry for your losses. Have you and your DH had a karyotype done of your chromosomes? That would tell if either of you are a carrier of any chromosome abnormalities. It also may be helpful to speak to a genetic counselor. ((hugs)) So sorry you are going through this.

i'm so sorry for your losses. all i know of trisomy 3 is that there is an extra chromosome in the third pair. it is a lethal disorder. a genetic counselor would know better, but i believe IVF with pre-screen embryos would be more successful. i'm sorry for your terrible news and the heart-wrenching decisions you must now make.

So sorry for your loss. My three and a half year old has partial trisomy 3. Full trisomy 3 is always lethal but I would imagine that it is a one-time event. Most chromosome abnormalities are what is called "de novo" meaning that they happen randomly during conception or meiosis. I would definitely see genetic counseling. I had two pgs with chromosome abnormalities (dd and a m/c afterward with Turners syndrome, which means she was missing an x chromosome). My second baby has normal chromosomes. Don't give up hope!

Thank you girls for the support. I don't think my Dr wants us to do the genetic testing just yet. He seems to think everything is just bad luck, I wish I felt it was that simple!! I know at some point I will have a sucessful pregnancy but I wish it was a little easier.
Thanks again
the baby i just lost tested for trisomy 18. not sure how that compares to trisomy 3
