Default Maca during Pregnancy?

Hi Ladies! I'm hoping you will be able to help answer my question. I've been taking Maca Root since mid April (750mg 3X a day) and am currently 16dpo and getting ready to do a hpt in the next few days. Am I able to continue taking Maca Root during pregnancy?? It's my understanding it's a nontoxic "food" so I'm thinking I can still take it, but I don't want to do anything to put a pregnancy at risk. Any information would be great. Thank you!

Hi! Just thought I'd post the answer I got from the company that makes the Maca I take...... It's an organic root vegetable so therefore should be fine to take while pregnant. The woman I spoke with said that she's told to tell customers to inform your dr that you are taking it and follow his/her directions. On a personal note though, she herself is 7 months pregnant and has been taking it throughout her pregnancy.
