Default Macmaster fertility clinic anyone?

HI ladies,
I'm from the Hamilton area, and was referred to the fertility clinic at MacMaster Hospital (Hamilton Health Sciences actually) and waswondering if anyone else has been there or knows of anyone who has been referred there? I've only had one appt there so far. I've had so many bad experiences with other dr's, before I got referred there, so I'm always on the defensive when I start with a new dr. Just wondering if there's anyone out there with some previous experiences at MAC

I used the West End clinic, which is part of Hamilton Health Sciences. I saw Dr. Daya for about a year. Plus whatever student happened to be there (the students did the internal exams, unsupervised... heck, the one I had barely spoke English). Dr. Daya was helpful in that he started me on Met, but he also didn't want to hear anything that didn't come from his mouth. Ultimately it turns out that he was forced to step down (in disgrace) for doing outdated, unapproved procedures on women (not me). My new doc was to be Dr. Megan Karnis (Carnis?), but I got pregnant on my own and never went back. Dr. Karnis had the nurse increase my Met dosage over the phone, without any new labwork or anything. That was very strange.

I hope that you have a better experience.

I have heard good & bad things about the clinic though I'm not a patient at the clinic.
You may want to try www.ivfconnections.com They have posts under the Canadian forum regarding pretty much every clinic in Canada.
Good Luck!

HI ladies,
Thanks for the info about the clinic. I went on Thursday to see Dr. Amin who was of course pregnant herself!, so she gave me some metformin, 500mg then 1000mg, then 1500mg until my next appt in April. She also told me that because she is going on mat leave in the beginning of April, I would have to see a different dr. when I came back. Ajani, thanx for the info about Dr. Karnis. SHe was the dr. that did my HSG test 2wks ago and she had the bedside manner of a post! Anyway, that is who the receptionist wanted to book me with in April, so I asked for someone else and they gave me Dr. Goodnow. So we'll see how this goes. The met hasn't been that bad so far (touch wood) but I've only been on it for 3 days also. So, we shall see how this works!
Thanks again for the info!
