Default Magic Cream and facial hair?

Ok so I shave my chin everyday in the morning, if I dont I get stubble and I hate to have people see it. I bout a tin of magic cream on the internet (silver and green can, the powder) because I have a wedding to be a bridesmaid for in may and dont want to have the ole chin bumps and stubble for the photo's.

Im a little apprehensive about using it on my face for a couple of reasons. I dont want to have to wait for 36 hours after I shave before I use it because I will look like a cave woman and that is not cool for me. So my question is, do you really have to wait for 36 hours after your last shave? Also, do you have to wait for the hair to get longer again to be able to use it, will I still have to shave/use magic cream every day?

Thanks ladies.

I just bought the magic cream tonight at wal mart and i have some of the same questions. I've only used my little "trimmer" and im worried about side effects. so far ive only read positive things. let me know how it works! or if i get brave enough i'll let you know lol!

Ok... I did a test area on my leg. It went great so i did my chin, lip, neck,"sideburns", legs, and underarms. The only problem was my neck turned a little red but by the time i finished with my legs it was gone.

Im glad it worked great for you.
Do you shave your chin/neck also? If so how long after shaving did you use it, or how long was the hair on your chin when you used it?

yes, i use a trimmer, like the small white one from wal-mart daily. except we moved this past weekend so friday morning was the last time i shaved and i used the magic cream sat. night. so it was getting pretty hideous but i was unpacking and noone had to see me! lol! its mon afternoon and i still dont have the 'stuble" that i would have by night after shaving in the morning! I've been telling everyone about it. even my non-pcos friends lol. my legs are even smooth still. good luck!

Please keep us informed as to how this is working for you. How long 'till stubble? Any bumps or redness? How often would you have to repeat it? I'm so curious. I just shave right now, but, like you all, I have to every day or else I'm stubbly and it's rediculous. Some days I don't mind and it's just a normal part of my routine, yet other days (mainly the days I get razor burn or am just extra tired) I just want to cry and throw the razor across the room! I'm so sick of it sometimes! No woman should have to shave their face! Ever! This is such a big problem for me! An embarassing one!! I'd LOVE to hear about anything that works!

I was just dx with pcos last week so im very new to this. My gyn was telling me about a medicine i can take if i decide i want to wait ttc. (im getting married in 2 weeks and we're praying and trying to decide to take bcp or ttc right away b/c it might take a while to actualy ovulate and then conceive) but she said if i decide to take bcp then there is a medicine i can take to help specifically with the hair growth. Idk what the name is b/c it was in the apt. that she told me the dx so i was a little overwhelmed and didnt catch all of the info.

Yes, it's so hard to catch all the info! There is So much to learn. My husband and I were just married January 17th and we were actually trying before since, and I quote, "It's going to take me forever to get pregnant anyway...we really don't need condoms." Sure enough we've been unprotected since mid - October and no babies... Now I'm actually ON BCP's to see if that'll actually help regulate things...I'll do those for 2 months, then back to TTC.

Spironolactone was possibly the med she suggested. I guess I haven't taken the time to look into it...since we're TTC I don't want to take more meds than I have to. I just like to be cautious like that.

I just wanted to mention that I've used Magic Powder in "other areas" and I've actually shaved right after using it (when there were stray hairs left behind). It was perfectly fine and didn't harm a thing--at least for me. I'm not recommending this, but I think that warning is just in case you have really sensitive skin. It's also interesting that I've used it "there" but never on my face! I'd like to try it on my chickstache, or as my mother says, "Upper lip hair." But I'm scared to put it on my face! I think it's the smell that freaks me out.

Smile Magic Cream?

I am new to soul cyster but have had PCOS since I was 15 - over 16 years ago. I hate the facial hair and the shaving and the lack of confidence. I had been directed to the site when I was looking for information about the herb inositol and came across this thread. I was curious about this magic cream - the name of it, how it works and where you get it. I would love to be able to do something like laser hair removal but we don't have the money for something like that. I just want to be able to look people in the eye again and not feel ashamed.

Mandy

I'm with ya Mandy...I think we all are! I'm curious about it too. I want to do laser as well, but like you, we can't really afford it. Plus I'm really scared for the day before (I think you may have to go a day or so w/out shaving) and the few days after (the redness and bumbs, etc). I know it's just a few days to make things a LOT better, but it scares me to death. My razor is w/ me ANY time I leave the house overnight. It's the first thing I pack!! I can't imagine not shaving for 1 day let alone 2 or more!

I was at Walmart looking for this magic cream and I'm not sure what I am looking for. Is there a specific name? Is it with the other hair removal stuff like Nair?

Hey it's by the razors its for black men. Its actually called "Magic Cream". I got the tube it has a bald black man on the front of it. They have powders that you can mix but i'm assuming it easiest to use the cream.
Hubby and i had a good laugh when we almost checked out at wal mart with a black cashier...we opted not to but im sure she would have given us some funny looks!

It's great for black men because they tend to have very curly hairs and course hairs on their face which creates the hair bumps and ingrown hairs. Magic Cream is suppose to stop that process. If you leave it on too long it's strong enough to break the skin and cause irritation... but it works like Nair! I have the Regular fragrant Cream in the blue/green tube.
